Long ago, it is said that in our lands there was a war between gods and dragons. It is also said that, to bring peace between the two peoples, a god would have forged a katana from the scales of the Celestial Dragon. This katana aimed to establish a peace treaty between the three worlds, and to create a favorable land for the humans that we are. To do so, this unique katana, temple of gods and dragons, has been entrusted to humans so that it can be used to establish peace across the oceans.
But one day, another conflict arises. A god disappeared from the sanctuary, as if by magic. Obviously, the gods accused the dragons and it escalated to the point of becoming a new war. So, in order for peace to return on earth and between the two peoples, the Supreme God and the Celestial Dragon exiled the katana far from men and sealed the gods in it; those who have been cursed with darkness so that they may be safe and appeased.
But back to my village. Since the dawn of time, this village has housed the greatest samurai of our era. My grandfather said it was because we were the chosen people to guard the god-forged katana that had now been forgotten. My clan was convinced that the katana remained on our lands, we did everything to preserve our territory, coveted by all, and to keep away anyone who approached it. Grandfather often told me about this invasion, when I was just an infant, where my parents lost their lives trying to protect our clan.
Then, eight years later, men came. An army, it was a hundred, or maybe more, they had come to seize our lands for the Legendary Katana. People said it was still slumbering here, it had brought them, but what they didn't know was that we didn't know either if that saber existed, if it was really here. We simply bend since that time to the will of our ancestors, to this living doctrine for generations to generations. Yet these people tortured my people to find out where the katana was hidden, they didn't believe what we said; thinking we wanted to keep it to ourselves.
My grandfather hid me in a cave under the waterfall in the forest. Before that day, I did not know that behind this fall was hiding this cave. I don't have a clear memory of this place, other than those shiny blue crystals. I was so scared that while walking in this cave, I got lost. In losing myself, I found myself. I found it.
My grandfather knew it, yet he hadn't said anything. The katana had been in this cave for centuries. I took it out of its stone base, then and I came out to my people, I wanted to bring it back to these warriors so they could free my people, but when I came back... There was nothing. They massacred women and children, they set this beautiful village on fire and bloodshed. I stayed there, in the middle of this chaos. They had destroyed everything, killed innocent people, all for this katana. In the rubble, I found Grandfather, he was dead. My only family had been massacred, I was now alone. With this weapon.
That day, I found the coat of arms of this militia, I took it. Etched in my memory, I had recognized this man, the leader of this slaying troupe, with their white coat of arms stained with the dusnang of mine illustrating a cowering dragon. I will never forget the scar on his cheek, never will I forget the darkness in his eyes.
– Who kills for the sword, will die by the sword...
Since then, I have been looking for these people. These people who brutally killed my family, my clan. Growing up, and through my travels to find them, I discovered more about this weapon and why it was so coveted and especially why I should never entrust it to a person of bad character.
In truth, if the gods had entered a black anger, it was because they were convinced that the dragon kept one of them in captivity. But over my discoveries in different corners of the vast world, I noticed by stories bequeathed by other clans that perhaps the dragons were also victims of a great deception. Victim of humans! So ever since, I've been looking for this god held captive to bring peace, finally.
So, I am the keeper of the Legendary Katana, Muteki! Me, Cea, samurai from Yuni village!
