"I'm sorry...I mean that's my phone." He said as he went towards the stairs as Ariana just stared at him shell shocked.
"What's wrong with him? Why is he so angry about a mere phone call?" She frowned. "She might really be his girlfriend."
...
"Annabel, why are you calling?" He asked immediately he picked the call.
"I don't want to talk to you now isn't it clear already when I missed your calls." He shouted at her.
"Joshua I-"
"What is it say it fast I'm busy?" He asked.
"Mom...mum is sick." She replied as Joshua angry face sudden became dull.
"What? Why didn't you send a message or something and you're just telling me now... what's wrong with you?" He fumed over the phone.
"I'm sorry, mum says she wants to see you." She replied.
"Okay, I'll be there now." Joshua said as he ended the call and turned around to see Ariana staring at him.
"Aria?" He called.
"Yes, is everything okay?" She asked, worried.
"No...I meant yes, I'm leaving." He said.
"Leaving? I don't understand." She replied confused.
"I'm going somewhere, we'll continue the rest in school on Monday." He explained and with that he headed upstairs and packed his bags.
"What's wrong with Joshua?"
...
"Joshua, you're here?" Freddy said as he gave him a hug.
"Mmmh"
"Aunt is inside, you should see her." He suggested as Joshua nodded and made way for the door when a girl suddenly came out and blocked his way.
"Annabel...please move!" He stayed as he stared hard at her.
"No! How could you do this to mum, because you didn't want to speak with me...you let her be in danger." She yelled at Joshua.
"I'm sorry okay just let me see her once." He pleaded.
"I don't think I should let you infant I made a big mistake by calling you here."
"ANNABEL!" Mr Mason yelled as he opened the door to the ward to see his children fighting.
"How can you speak to your brother in that manner?" He questioned as Annabel kept mute.
"Joshua, you can go in and Freddy take her outside." Mr Mason ordered.
"Yes uncle." Freddy said and grabbed Annabel by the arm and headed towards the exit.
...
"Joshua... Joshua you're here." His mother replied weakly as he walked towards the bed and sat down holding her hand.
"Yes mum...are you alright?" He asked as she slowly nodded.
"You had me worried." Joshua replied as she gave a weak smile.
"Don't have to worry I'll be fine, I didn't take my medicine on time that's why." She explained.
"It's fine already, I'll stay here with you till you recover now rest." Joshua said as he adjusted her pillow as she slowly lied down.
"That's better I'll be right back." Joshua said and left the room.
...
"Annabel, what was that rubbish about?" Mason asked.
"Dad I-"
"Don't say anything, you're a girl and let it remain that way what kind of nonsense was that and how dare you speak to your brother in that manner, answer me." Mr Mason yelled at her as she started crying.
"But dad, it was is fault...he should have informed mum about his whereabouts but he didn't and mum was worried." She explained.
"And so? How's that your business?" He questioned.
"From today henceforth mind your business, what ever your brother does it's not your business to judge is that clear?"
"Yes...yes dad."
"Good."
