Chapter 57 - Man meet Monke : Chapter 56

It's been three day's since I have been climbing from one mountain to another. The baby owls themselves were somewhat struggling from always being in the bag all the time. Once a couple of times, I was able to meet a lot of lizards that were also hanging around the sides of the mountains. This gave me the chance to capture them and feed them to the owls as well as feed myself. Even though I'm inside the mind of a giant turtle, I still feel hungry from time to time.

I know it seems kind of stupid to carry these animals with me but the idea of living some couple of baby chicks by the side of the mountain would be pretty irresponsible. I killed their mother because of a grudge, the chicks themselves had nothing to do with my revenge.

But it does feel like its stupid to carry them with me…still, I already made progress with my journey.

I've already past halfway through to the highest peak and looking by how I was able to see an edge at the current mountain I was climbing on right now, I was hopeful that beyond that edge was a place I could rest.

"Three days…it's been three days…"

I kept reminding myself of the days I've spent in this world. The experiences of my climb. Like how I spent 18 hours just continuously climbing and looking for a spot to rest on…and at one point of this journey, when I did find one safe spot, it was big enough only to fit half the width of my body.

I was somewhat happy to see that the company I was carrying was helping me get through this place by a simple act of cute gestures. They would hoot along my journeys and sometimes chirp as any bird would do.

One time when I was resting by a campfire, at that cold night, the three baby owls were very complacent with snuggling by my side.

It felt like I was a mother bird who was taking care of there children…

Their big round eyes and fluffy feathers were one of the things that kept my will up.

And now as I climb my way to the top, I noticed that one of the birds in my bag was squirming around like a restless child. As he moved around the bag, he suddenly jumps off from it and grabs on to one of my shoulders…

"...Ah!" I was quite surprise by what he did but luckily enough, his grip was very strong. It was strong enough that he could climb all over me but never slip-off.

As the three birds noticed this, they too followed suite and tried climbing all over me while I was climbing up.

"'Wait…..wait….stop you guys!.." I tried warning them off since I was losing my balance, but they were to restless to even care to listen to me.

So I picked up my pace and climb as fast as I could all up to the top of this mountain.

It didn't took five minutes and I finally came to the edge.

"Haa….haaa…..haaa….You guys really should settle down…"I said this to them while I was gasping for air with my whole body laid to the floor.

"...Hoo?" one of the owls went and looked at me with a confused expression. I could tell because of how he was leaning his head to the side while he was hotting on, on top of me.

"...I guess you guys are getting excited…I mean this is your first adventure after all." I said this to them, knowing that this was their first time in this world and it was before they learned to fly…

As I stood up from the ground, I turned away from the edge of the mountain and turned back. As I looked to my front, I was amazed to see that beyond this mountain, I was at the very foot of the highest peak…looking up, I could feel an ominous feeling from the top. Aside from where I stand, I was meet with a terrain that was rooted to lead to the very top. I was able to see a path that might lead to the very top. The path itself was a spiral staircase, and seeing it made me question why and who made it that way because it looked man made.

I turned back to check on the chicks, and saw that they were playing with one another…

Their attitude was very different compared to when I first meet them. When I killed their mother, their only reaction was a silent curl and a small chirp. It might have been coincidence that after a day or two of carrying them, they were starting to develop their sense of awareness and when they were still with their mother, they weren't aware of the things I did…it was just my speculation since I did not know a thing about birds.

Either way, I'm just glad to see that they were happy to be this way.

After resting a couple of minutes, I started my walk to the top with the birds.

Since the path before me was a thick forest, I needed to be careful since it might be filled with predators.

I only had two days left, so I couldn't waste my time walking into the forest. The forest was probably five kilometers wide…I could probably past through it with ease if I ran.

So I did.

As I put the birds back in the bag, I carried the spear on my hand as a precaution and started running to the forest.

As I my way made into the forest, I was at a constant speed of 40 km/h. running at this speed would probably take me around 8 minutes to pass the forest. But since I might meet a few enemies, it'll probably be around 15 to 20 minutes…

As I ran and ran across the forest, I was suddenly meet with an unbelievable encounter.

*Boom!*

A giant gray ball of muscle and hair suddenly falls from one of the trees.

It was the Giant gorilla that I once saw on the river three days back.

Looking at his stature, he was limping on one hand while the other hand was filled with injuries like claw marks and bite marks.

His stoic figure was still in view but his ragged breathing along with a few drops of blood from his injuries made him look as weak as you'd imagine him to be.

'...Why…why are you here?' the thought of such a strong figure being barely alive and being in front of me made me worry of what actually happened for him to be here.

His eyes started to dart my way.

In response to this, I too looked at him in the eye.

"...My king awaits you…" all of a sudden words started to come out of his mouth. And he presented me with the very rock I once lost…he showed it to me by his hand that wasn't injured.

As he rolled down the rock to my direction, I simply stop it from moving by the tip of my shoe. I was shocked to know that the rock was with this gorilla…I didn't even know why it was with him in the first place…Was it coincidence? Was it fate? And who was the king that was waiting for me? Was it Gord?

"Gord?" As I asked this question, suddenly a slow moving ominous glare was suddenly put to my direction.

The heavy killing intent it brought it with it made me shiver in cold sweat.

"...What is…" Before I could finish my question, a giant injured tiger slowly walks out of a few tall trees and bushes and showed itself to me and the injured gorilla.

"..Grrrr….*Growl!*" the growl itself made me and the Gorilla face its direction. As if it was calling to the Gorilla in an act of inviting him to continue what they did before meeting me.

"...Run." As the Gorilla spoke this word, the Tiger suddenly jumps from its place and lunges himself unto the Gorilla.

In an act of defending himself, the Gorilla with his limping arm, Charged back at the Tiger at the fullest force he could muster.

*THUD!* the clash of their bodies caused the very leaves surrounding us to shake fervently.

As they clashed, the Tiger made his move and used both of his claws to dig in deeper to the back of the Silver Gorilla.

"GraahhhhhH!!!" he screamed over the pain, all to a point that it seemed like a roar reverberated across the forest.

While he was suffering from the attack, he used his uninjured hand and punched it down to the Tigers side.

"!!??" the tiger's reaction was clear as day as it's eyes was wide to the expression of his ribs being broken.

In response to the attack he received in the sides, he opened his jaw and aimed at the very shoulder that was used to strike his sides.

"!!" The Gorilla struggled and used every ounce of strength he had to push away the Tiger.

Seeing this spectacle of a fight, I have done nothing more than admire the fight of each of the two's will clashing against one another.

He told me to run but I couldn't…not yet.

Not once have I ever seen something fight with such desperation…not unless I count my own experiences.

As I watched them fight, I questioned myself how it was possible for him to talk using my language…but then I remembered I was in a world that was filled with magic and such, so a question like that seemed unnecessary.

Aside from that question, I had other things I wanted to ask. like how he had the rock in the first place.

But as they continued to fight, I was having this other ominous feeling of defeat from the Gorilla's side. He only had one arm to fight against the Tiger, so I doubt he cold win. I needed to do something to secure his life…

I needed to assist the Gorilla…

So I readied the spear out and tried to do my best to assist the Gorilla.

As the Gorilla fought, he used his hands and grabbed a piece of boulder from the ground and used it as a weapon. When the Tiger came in close, he proceed to smash the rock against the tiger's jaw. As it hit the Tiger, The gorilla was sure that that strike alone was probably enough to knock out another wild predator but seeing as how the tiger was standing with this pure intensive glare, the gorilla knew that the attack was not near enough to shake him.

The tiger didn't wait after being hit by the boulder and instead tried its best to push him back using his claws as a way to threaten the gorilla. The claws would push out and would reach up to a length of half a meter…the very size of his palm made it seem plausible that those claws were like the blades fit to slay a giant.

Each slash of his claws would make the gorilla step back a little.

One hit of those could be lethal to the gorilla, so he had to be careful.

As such, while he would step back, he did every possible aspect to find a way to escape this beast. He tried looking left but all he could see was thick trees and shrubs, the same goes for the right side and if he goes back any further, he'll reach the very edge of the mountain he was standing on. Falling from it would cause him to die, and the same goes for the tiger…

Knowing this, it gave him a stupid idea.

As he slowly steps back, he slowly drags out a few grubs of dirt from the floor and started piling them up on to his hand.

The sun was very bright and the temperature itself was very hot, so the ground was very dry and dusty.

In his mind, it gave him a chance…

As his hands were filled with dirt, he waited for the perfect moment to attack back.

When the tiger threw his left arm out to try to slash the gorilla, this gave the gorilla the chance to throw the dirt from his hands unto the eyes of the tiger.

"...Grrrahhhh!!" the Tiger was monetarily blinded. His eyes filled with the finest dust any animal would have the chance to get. And it caused him to struggle in his view.

The tiger used his paws to wipe off the dirt but as he did so, the Gorilla came charging in with such a threatening roar that it caused the tiger to come back in his senses to fight. But it was to late, the gorilla grabbed one of the tiger's paws and pulled him off of his feet.

The gorilla gave every ounce of strength he had to try to throw the tiger but because of the bite he took earlier, he had trouble with using all of his energy.

He could only throw the tiger at the edge of the cliff and not beyond it.

As the tiger falls to the ground, he struggles to stand back up from his place but his sense of wanting to kill the gorilla filled him with rage. Although his eyes were still filled with dust, he couldn't care less of it and only stared at the Gorilla with such a glare.

The Gorilla in turn also looked at the tiger with the will to want to end things.

*ROOOAARRR!!!*

*GRRRRRAAAAaaHHHH!!!*

They both called out to each other and charged at one another.

The tiger came first with his long claws and tried to aim for the Gorilla's eyes, but the gorilla came in clutch with a piece of boulder and threw it at the tiger before the claws could reach him.

The boulder could only hit the tiger's face and it only made him stagger a bit, but the Gorilla used this chance and used his hand to grab the tiger's throat.

As he tried to reach for the throat, the tiger suddenly pushes forth and uses his claws to strike the gorilla's eye. It struck the gorilla and caused him to screech in pain. This momentary moment of chance made the tiger seek the very throat of the gorilla.

He opened his jaws and quickly lunge straight at the gorilla.

The gorilla notices this and thought that maybe he was going to die at this rate…the tiger was already nearing him and pushing him back was going to be useless since he wasn't in any position to attack...if only he could use his other arm, only then could he attack back, but it was too late.

Suddenly, a spear strikes out of nowhere and hits the tiger's very eye. The spear itself dug into the eye and almost half of its length was beneath the tiger's eye.

The throw was that hard.

That throw of a spear gave the Gorilla a second chance.

Although his eye was in pain, he had to finish this. So he used his hand to grab the tiger's throat and with the strength that was capable of tearing a crocodile's jaw in half, he tore off the tiger's throat.

"!!??"

The tiger was in shock…his eye could only stare at the bloody hand that was holding his throat.

Not long after, the tiger fell to his side and was slowly losing blood…

The gorilla could only look unto the body with such a stoic expression.

After looking at the tiger's dead body, he turned back and looked to the boy who was looking back at him with an indifferent expression.

"..."

"..."

The two stared in silence…until finally the gorilla fell to his butt and sat down to the ground.

The boy along with the owls, could only look to the gorilla with the hopes of finding an explanation.

But for now the Gorilla was very tired to fully say anything straight.

He had to rest and the boy understood that.
