As Inna strode toward the three adventurers, their faces were wracked with shock. None of them had any clue what was going on, and Inna paid them no mind. She merely said "Well, that's taken care of. Come on you three, let's get back to our lives."
The three of them looked at her incredulously. Done? What was done? Nothing was done at all! What the hell are you talking about?! This inhuman woman was entirely insane!
Alfonse was the one to voice everyone's thoughts. "What are you even talking about? We haven't done anything. Where's the village, who do we bring back? What do we tell our kingdoms?"
Inna looked at him as if he was an idiot. "The village will be returned, Alucard will take care of it, unless you three want to go to the vampire's realm and bring it back yourselves. Either way, I'm not going in there."
Mia stepped forward. "Alright, let's contact everyone. We can set up a meeting and let them know what happened and who was behind the disappearance."
Inna thought to herself. 'Ah, at least someone has some idea as to what needs to be done.' She nodded. "Right then. You call them and make the journey back. When you three arrive at the meeting, crush the stone and I'll explain, since you three obviously have no idea what's going on."
The three of them almost burst a blood vessel when they heard her. All three of them said, "No one knows anything except you!"
Inna smirked. "Exactly." That was the last they heard of her voice before she disappeared, leaving a black opal stone where she once stood.
.....
Alucard, the girl standing near the extremely confused woman, finally spoke. "Tch, that woman is a pain in my ass. I swear. She disappears for so long, only to come back and immediately give me a task. Lilith be damned that woman is infuriating!" Alucard's mind was immediately wracked with an immense amount of pain as she fell to her knees.
"F-Fuck I shouldn't say her name in vain or she really will kill me." Her voice was extremely pained as she began to slowly stand back up.
Paying the adventurers no mind, she looked towards the new vampire and said, "Name, new-kin?"
The woman looked down. "I-I'm Laya."
Alucard slapped her. "Laya, you are a vampire now. A predator among humans, a true creature they will fear. You should not be timid or frightened. Now come, we have work to do."
Alucard waved her hand as a blood-red portal opened up. Moments later, she stepped through. Laya remained standing there in a daze before a young girl's arm pulled her through. The portal closed behind them.
.....
Inna suddenly appeared in the common room of their dorm. Ember was sitting on the couch and she nearly jumped out of her skin when Inna suddenly appeared. The two of them had already packed their things. Well, Ember did; Inna didn't have anything to pack.
Ember was already informed by Inna herself of the shift in their room arrangements. She wasn't that surprised when the headmaster informed her soon after. Ember felt as if she was leeching off of Inna's amazing prowess. She hated that feeling, the pangs of guilt, the heaviness on her mind. She vowed to make it up to her someday.
Ember shook herself from her thoughts, turning to Inna as she began approaching her room. "I thought you were on a mission from the headmaster? You weren't even gone for one full day."
Inna chuckled. "Ember, the mission is complete and I'm awaiting the summons for the meeting. No need to worry. With me on the mission, there was no possible way it would have failed."
Ember smiled and turned back to whatever it was she was doing. Inna was unsure, 'studying perhaps?' She mulled on that thought as she entered her room. Once again, she began sifting through her memories. Looking for further information on phoenix fire.
.....
It took her a while, but she did find it. Her first experiences with Phoenix Fire. Most of her experience with the chaotic flame was through Yion Freya. Even though Inna had interacted with actual phoenixes, her experiences with Yion were the only ones that stood out.
This memory had Inna standing atop a battered, beaten, and bruised Freya. She was standing in a large arena, her boot on the back of her unconscious body. One of her arms was raised, eliciting cheers from the crowd.
The entire arena burst into a bright green fire. The heat was so overwhelming that even those among the crowd could feel it, despite the barrier between the crowd and contestants stopping all manner of soul strength.
When the fire cleared, Yion was standing. Her hair was now a blackened flame. Her eyes were hardened, and she stared at Inna. The fire clung to Inna's body desperately. Inna seemed entirely unphased, however.
"You'll lose here, Inna. I will win this one." Yion spoke with absolute confidence.
Inna raised an eyebrow. "Why? Because you can't die?"
Freya smirked. "It seems you already know. I'm going to crush you. Right here and right now. The tournament is mine."
Freya dashed towards Inna, the speed at which she moved produced a sonic boom, and Inna disappeared in response.
The singular exchange ended with Freya in Inna's clutches. Inna's hand was wrapped tightly around her throat. She spoke loud enough for the whole crowd to hear. "You can't die? That hasn't stopped me before, why would it now? Your resolve will be broken just like the others."
With that, she effortlessly snapped Freya's neck and tossed her aside. Her body crashed into the ground and tumbled, hitting the arena barrier and smashing through it.
Medics rushed over and began looking her over. "Sh..She's dead."
Inna spoke over them. "Give it a second. She'll be mad if you call the match so soon."
The medics were hesitant, but the king within the VIP section nodded at them to wait. Within a few moments, there was a loud bird cry. Freya stood up, her face alight with rage.
The rest of the battle was a brutal beating, and Inna ended up winning. Freya was "convinced" to give up via brutality.
