Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Beginning

Boredom is something even gods cant reject. But is it worth it to risk the life of the universe just to cure it? A particular goddess plays with forces that go way beyond her, but she doesn't seem to understand how her actions will change the fate of her world. The arrogance of this goddess goes even beyond her other god-comrades. She plays with interdimensional travel just so she can enjoy how the mortals fight against each other. By creating a GATE to a different reality without even knowing what is behind it, has she invited some greater forces into her universe that will claim the right of judgment over her world, called Falmart.

Commander of the Saderan Empire Scout Legion: "Legions! We have come here to claim the lands of the barbarians that live beyond the gate, so we can make the Saderan empire even greater than it is now!" cheered the Commander of the Scouting Legion that was sent by the Emperor to see what's beyond the gate and possibly claim and ravage it.

Commander: "March forward! Demi-Humans first!". With these words, the small Legion prepared to move into the darkness of the gate with curious thoughts about what the other side will look like.

It took several minutes for them to arrive, and what they saw was something they could not even dream of. It was the city of the gods. They stood on a large platform that seems to be higher than the actual ground. Around them were things that they couldn't describe with their primitive language.

Captain: "This is the city of the gods!"

Commander: "Calm down, Captain, we need to stay focused on our task given us by the emperor himself! We can't get distracted by these weird buildings around us."

It was indeed something not all mortals could see in their life. Better would be to say no mortal would see this view.

They were stranded in a Dyson sphere somewhere in the galaxy, with the stars visible through the glass. It was indeed a strange land.

Captain: "Commander, do you see that there in the distance? It looks like 5 human-shaped individuals that are flying towards us!?"

Commander: "What are you talking about, Captain? Have you gone mad! Wait! You are correct! Something is coming our way? Impossible! Who are they?"

Soon after, 5 individuals were floating 10 meters away from them. They wore some strange-looking armor that was made from different colors for each one of them, with some golden markings. They seemed to be human, so the Legion thought they would be an easy target even if they can float in the air. The Legion was 200 times the number of these five. Likewise, they would be fools even to dare stand in our way, thought some Imperialists.

Commander: "Who are you people who dare stand in our way!"

The arrogance of the Imperialists was well known, but to act like that in front of danger was showing that they are underestimating their enemy which they have no information about.

These five were not simple mortals standing in their way. These were Eternals, servants of the Celestials, immortal beings that are worshiped as gods on different planets. Their names are Ikaris, Eros, Gilgamesh, Thena, and Ajak. Ikaris and Eros had the natural ability to fly, but the other three Eternals had to use some sort of flying platform to be able to move in the air.

Ikaris: "Strange. These humans look very primitive from the humans on earth."

Ajak: "These humans are not from our universe, I can feel the difference in their energies. These have similarities, but some of these men exceed them, giving them some sort of energy manipulation abilities."

Eros: "Well, we know that much, but how did these arrive in our Dyson sphere?"

Thena: "They don't pose a huge threat to us, but we cannot let them just walk around in the place of the highest beings, the Celestials."

Gilgamesh: "I would use force, but let's talk this out, I think they will be cooperative."

The Eternals quickly adapted to the foreign language that the soldiers spoke in. It resembled the Latin that was spoken 2000 years ago, but with some minor differences.

Ikaris: "I am Ikaris, an Eternal, servant of the Celestials. Surrender or we have to force you to submission!"

The statement of this strange being shocked the soldiers. How could he dare to say such a thing to an army 200 times the size of their group?

Commander: "Who are you to dare claim being servants of the gods! Only the Apostles have this privilege of being their most loyal subjects! You are a blasphemer speaking such nonsense. Legion! Attack these impostors!"

The commander knew like every soldier that these beings would most likely wield great power. But his arrogance got the better of him, and he chose to ignore his instincts.

The mages and archers shot at the five with all they had with his words. They conjured fire, water, and ice at the mysterious beings.

Mage 1: "Flame!"

Mage 2: "Ice shard!"

Mage 3: "Water burst!"

The spells made a cloud of dust appear when they impacted with the enemy and the arrows came shortly after piercing into the clouds and killing everything that survived the blasts. So they thought.

Captain: "Just nothing more than liars in front of the twelve gods."

Cheers started to form in the ranks of the imperial army, and it seems as if they had won this battle.

Ikaris: "Don't say we didn't warn you, humans!"

Captain: "What! How can you be alive after this! Wyvern Riders! Attack the enemy at once! I want the Demi-Humans to be the first to make contact with them!"

Almost all had their jaws open after these five beings came out of the cloud, revealing themselves to them. Still, they obeyed the commands of their higher-ups to not receive any punishment.

Thena: "Let's show them not to mess with us! It sure is good training, fighting them, nothing else."

Thena said with a smile appearing on her face as if she would be amused by the situation.

Like a flash, Eros and Ikaris stormed at the Wyvern Riders, Ikaris shooting manipulated energy from his eyes and Eros from his hands. Ajak, Thena, and Gilgamesh jumped from their flying pods to fight the enemy face on.

It was devastating for the empire. They could not even come close to scratching them as they were shrunk in the hundreds by each passing second.

They had magic that seemed to be different from the magic from Falmart.

Commander: "Mage, what is this strange and powerful magic these five use? I have never seen such magic before!"

The commander was not very happy that they just attacked a powerful enemy that can fly and shoot some sort of yellow light from their eyes. He doubted that these were some kind of gods from this world for a second. He discarded that thought real quick because he would never join Emroy the God of War in the afterlife with these thoughts.

Mage 1: "I don't know of this magic, sire! These must be the powers of the gods, I believe. It looks like they can manipulate the magic directly without even making an incantation or a chant. If they can do so much, we have lost this battle when we decided to call them barbarians."

Commander: "What are you saying, Mage! Do you wish to be executed when we finish this conquest! Don't fall for their illusions. Yes, they must use some sort of powerful illusion, so we would run from the battlefield. Soldiers! Don't fall for their tricks, they are simple illusions, the enemy can't possibly defeat an entire army with illusions!"

He tried to boost the morale of his troops to give them more courage to engage with the enemy.

Ikaris: "They don't seem to start to run away."

Eros: "Yes, such a shame. I have communicated with Jemiah the Analyzer, he would like to see the portal and the people coming from it."

Ikaris: "Then let's drawback and wait until Jemiah appears."

From the perspective of the empire, it seems like they were falling back because they couldn't fight anymore.

Commander: "Now you see my legion! They are probably exhausted by now, fighting with such a great force. They fear us! Don't give up now!"

As the legion advanced, they saw a big black hole appear in the distance behind these five beings. It grew bigger and bigger, and it had some strange green and white light surrounding it. The troops stopped marching and just watched the anomaly with curiousness and fear in their eyes.

But now the impossible happened.

A massive giant with green armor appeared out of the black hole with holes in his helmet where strange light came out. Because they were currently on a higher platform than the ground, they would see him from his waist up. But even then he was hundreds of meters tall.

You could see the reaction of the soldiers written on their faces. Never had they seen such a being that was this tall and appeared out of nowhere. All of them stood there for seconds watching the giant come closer.

It looked like it would watch the legion and analyze every one of them. And that was true, Jemiah was very curious about the portal and these humans. He would like to study it and possibly even see what lies beyond it.

Commander: "I-Its just an illusion, dammit! They have focused all their power to make this giant with their magic as a last resort to make us flee the battle!"

Even when he said these words, he didn't believe himself. The giant looked very real, and you could feel the air changing from the pressure the giant was emitting.

Captain: "Commander, you must escape and tell the empire what happened here and that we entered the land of the gods. Please, you must go."

The punishment for this sin was very high in the empire and could even be death. But this information was too important to let die here.

Commander: "You are right, but I would be punished for committing treason. I will leave immediately."

He gathered a small number of cavalry soldiers and looked at the fearful giant that was just looking down on them. The giant godlike being just watched them from above. But then he moved his hand towards the legion. It appeared a light in the giant's hand as he pointed it to them. Some soldiers started running away and some thought this was one of their gods inviting them to the afterlife.

Suddenly all of them were surrounded by the same light and disappeared after some seconds, leaving just their weapons behind. This was the last thing the commander saw as he rode through the gate to safety. He didn't try to think about what happened and tried to focus on the mission. But how could he ignore that they just tried to invade the home of a god? How could he recover from this mental trauma he just witnessed? How could a simple mortal understand the world of the gods? These questions ran through his mind as he disappeared into the darkness of the gate.
