"I still don't get it, so you're saying he's Asian?" Yuna asked Kiaraa as they walked into the cafeteria.
Kiaraa sighed, "Isn't that obvious, can't you see his face?" she retorted back with annoyance,
"And why are you so bothered about him anyways?" Kiaraa asked again and narrowed her eyes with folded arms.
"Well, let's just say that he looks so mysterious" Yuna replied bluntly.
Kiaraa nodded despondently and walked up to a seat near the window where she could get a clear view of the blooming cherry blossoms. She looked at the ever-so-long cafeteria line and wondered why people would queue up just to get some tasteless American food.
She picked up her phone and typed in a message and just then Yuna got back with a tray of spaghetti in her hand.
Kiaraa glanced up at her, "Don't you miss Thai food?" she asked and Yuna sighed, dropped the tray, and sat down opposite Kiaraa.
She looked up with sad eyes, "I miss Thailand, I don't know why but the environment seems a lot more peaceful and it makes me feel safe and loved," she replied and Kiaraa nodded absentmindedly.
Yuna's mum was from Thailand and her dad is Canadian. She lived in Thailand all her life and they recently moved to Austin for some business concerning her father. She had the Asian 'aegyo' and being with her always reminds Kiaraa of home.
Speaking of Asian, Kiaraa glanced at the cafeteria but she couldn't find that iceberg guy anywhere, she just shrugged it off,
'Maybe he's not used to American food like me.'
She came back from my thoughts when her phone chummed indicating a message. She looked at it and smirked.
"Hey baby, what do you think about some gimbap*?" she asked Yuna.
Yuna looked up from her food with twinkling eyes and Kiaraa chuckled at her cuteness. "I think that's a yes," she voiced out and walked out of the cafeteria.
The hallway seemed quiet as she walked by, but when she got close to the conference hall she heard some whispers. In as much as she wanted to ignore it, but what caught her attention mostly was that it was a foreign language. She tiptoed to the door and caught a glimpse of silver hair.
"Yes father, chaetae, naege yeogi issneun iyuleul al-a*" the voice said.
She held her hand over her mouth, 'oh God....did I just eavesdrop on someone's conversation? when did I become so low?'
She took a peek at him again and turned, just as she was about to step forward, she felt a cold piercing gaze at the back of her head.
'Oh no!!! Did I just get caught? And that language is Korean which means that Mr iceberg is Korean. No wonder I found him familiar, but where have I seen him?' her thoughts swirled but her thoughts immediately snapped back to the present.
She froze, she couldn't run because she felt it would be awkward, so she started racking her brain for an excuse that won't make it seem weird.
"What do you want?" his voice was as stoic as ever and she gulped, inwardly chastising herself for not minding her business. Then she turned to him and was met with the same cold piercing silver eyes.
She cleared her throat, " Uhm, excuse me," she replied sharply, "This is a school and I am allowed to walk anywhere I want, it's not like you own this place or something," she sneered and an air of confidence surrounded her being.
Just as she was preparing myself for another cold statement, he just walked past her.
'Oh my God, did this dude just disrespect me? Who does he think he is?'
Her deep amber eyes blazed intently with anger but she quickly composed herself and walked over to the parking lot.
She walked over to a black limited edition Lotus Evora, the tinted glass windows rolled down and she immediately gave her orders.
"Please get the food to miss Yuna Chen and inform her that I'll be heading home and also please check in on the principal too, I don't want to seem rude so just make up an excuse for me to go home. Get the other car ready, Thank you!!!"
"Young miss, is there a problem?" the man in the car asked and she looked up at him with her fiery amber eyes.
"Since when do you question my decision?" She raised a brow menacingly.
"Uhm....young miss...I ....."
She quickly raised her delicate hand to stop his stuttering.
"You know what, just get the car ready," she said with frustration.
"It's ready miss" his reply came shortly afterwards and he pointed at a black Teslar model not too far from where she stood.
Her steps were slow as she walked towards the car.
"Good day miss," a cheerful voice welcomed her as soon as she stepped into the car.
She smiled back with a small wave, "Hi Lorenzo."
"Please just take me home," her tone bacame exhausted and he immediately started the car without further questions.
Instinctively, she turned back and saw the usual five convoys of cars following hers. Her eyelids quivered as her eyes became heavy, a myriad of thought sprang up in her head.
She felt that her life was imprisoned as she couldn't go anywhere without bodyguards around her all the time. She took a deep breath and rested her head on the window with her eyes closed.
"Young miss, Master has sent for you from Soeul," she heard but still had her eyes closed.
"Go on," she muttered in a low breath and fell silent after that.
"He said he has an important task for you," he replied again.
"Get the plane ready, I'll head off by 7:00 this evening,"
"Yes, miss" he replied.
'I wonder what that old man wants from me. Didn't he already make me feel like a prisoner? He sent me here to this foreign country for some reasons I have no idea about. Sigh!!! I need to have a chat with that old man.'
