*Bang*
The sound disturbed Willow she opened her eyes instantly. The bang on her door was too hard that she had to stand on her feet to check who or what had hit it.
She was only watching a movie earlier and that closed her eyes for a bit, not up to a minute. She walked to the door and checked through the peephole. It was clear, there wasn't anyone. She groaned frustratingly before she walked to the window to check out the flower boy, who usually tended to the flowers at the next compound. He was always tending to them 24/7
To her disappointment, she didn't see him, instead, all she saw was unidentified stuff, splashed on the flowers he used his mind and heart to care for.
She opened her window and peeped outside, trying to see well and what she saw was unexpected. He lay on the ground, hand on his neck as he gagged. Willow gasped, she covered her mouth with her palm before dashing out of her apartment. She resided in a story-building house which was affordable.
The cost of living for a student like her was much, so to cut her coat according to her size, she rented a one-room apartment.
Immediately she got out of her home, she almost fainted at the sight that beheld her eyes. Blood! She dashed into her room and took hold of a hammer before heading out. She couldn't possibly turn a blind eye to what she had seen.
If she were to stay inside, she couldn't forever.
She walked down the stairs, holding tightly onto the hammer, and avoided stepping on the blood to avoid slipping. She wasn't courageous, she knew it, but damn it, she wanted to know what was happening.
As she made to take the turn of the stairs, the sight she saw weakened her legs. An abnormal being tore the insides of Mama porty, eating and sucking her out like some kind of Zombie.
"Oh fvck," she exclaimed, falling on her feet. Her eyes widen when she saw it turn to her at the sound it heard. She shifted back, holding onto the hammer tightly and peeing on her body.
She was attacked. The Zombie had jumped on her, made to eat her alive, she struggled, took the hammer in her mouth, and placed it between the teeth of the carnivorous animal. The strength of a little one like Willow didn't match the Zombie.
Before she knew it, she saw the head of the Zombie flinging away and when she looked up, a hand was stretched to her.
"Come," the savior said to her and she willingly accepted his hand.
"What is going on?" she asked in a shaky voice.
"Lots of things that have no explanation for," uttered the Savior
"Thanks for saving me."
"Let's go. I'm Lucian, by the way," the man introduced himself as they walked down the stairs, hurriedly.
"I'm Willow," she introduced herself also.
"Where are we going to?" she asked
"To save others and get to a save place," Lucian mumbled, holding his sword in his hand like the expert he was
"What? Aren't we supposed to find safety?" inquired Willow. She was shaking like earlier. She had complete faith in this savior of hers and she would stick to him in the hope of surviving whatsoever horror this was.
"I found you, we find the rest," said Lucian.
"Ok. Can we go to the next compound? My friend, he… um. He's not my friend though… But he…" muttered Willow
"After we find and rescue other."
"William will die before then," said Willow as she burst into anger.
Lucian stopped walking, luckily, they hadn't encountered any other Zombies. "William?" he asked, Willow nodded.
"He's gone," said Lucian, and Willow froze.
"No, he isn't. I saw him moving. He was the reason I came out of my apartment to see all these," said Willow as she cried.
"He is gone. This moment isn't for crying at all. You have to be strong to survive. No breaking down at this point or you are a goner," said Lucian.
"But… But…"
"No buts, let's go," he said.
On the floor, they had come down from, not a single soul except for Willow, and dead bodies were there.
*Knock*
Lucian knocked on a door but had no response, he knocked until he said, "It's safe. I'm your neighbor."
The door was instantly opened, and a man holding a pistol came out. "Enter," he said to them both and they complied.
'We have to move to the rooftop," uttered Lucian and Willow stared at him.
"What?" she exclaimed
"I was just coming from the up apartment and will need a few steps to go to the rooftop, but instead, you lead me here?" asked Willow. "Oh god, I am going to die," she muttered dramatically.
"I saved you. I was walking down from my apartment also before I saw everything that was happening. I had to go back to get this," Lucian said as he held his sword up.
"I knew something was wrong, I had knocked on every apartment and no one answered, so I had no choice but to come down, but I heard sounds after a few minutes," said Lucian.
"Then we could have gone up," Willow muttered.
"And leaving the rest alone?"
"I should have left the country yesterday," said the man whose apartment they were in. "This wouldn't be happening if we had left the country," the man said
"Dad," the man's teenage daughter called and she increased the volume of the TV.
The News Reported said, "The world is coming to an end. The whole continent is experiencing a crisis from creations known as the zombies."
Reporter 2: "Stay indoors. Do not come out. The world isn't safe. Do not come out, to survive, stay indoors."
The TV was put off by Lucian, and he sighed. "The rooftop is our priority, we have to get there."
"You heard what they said, stay indoors." The man's daughter, Allen said
"Then we all perish in here ."
