Chapter 2 - Way Back

The man inside Zinnia's body was silent. He did not recognize the girl he just met. But he still tried to stay calm. If he told about his swapped soul, his friend might not believe it and thought he was a madman.

"Emm. Her name is Zinnia. She ... she just by coincident pass by me," Zinnia answered with Rey's body.

'Stupid,' Rey thought, glanced at his own body.

"By coincidence but why you ...."

"Never mind. Now, you go upstairs! I'll catch up with you after my problem is over," Zinnia ordered in a deep, cold, and firm voice. She was already quite dizzy with what had happened just now. She did not want to be bothered by the stranger who had just appeared with his questions.

"Okay. Solve your problem! Hurry up! Because we have a meeting," the man replied as he walked up the stairs leaving Zinnia and the stranger she bumped into.

"It's great that you can imitate me," said the man named Rey in his cute voice of girl.

"Don't praise me! Now, how can we get back?" Zinnia asked as she looked into her own face.

"If I had known, I would have done it long time ago. I was going to a meeting and now I'm stuck in this ugly body of yours. You see? It's all your fault!" shouted the man, still in Zinnia's voice.

"Why did you insult my body anyway?" Zinnia murmured in madness.

"What I have is that I'm annoyed. I have to exchange souls with an obscure and annoying man," Zinnia added as she folded her arms.

"Enough! Think of a way to get us back." The man who was in Zinnia's body rose from his seat. The real Zinnia also stood up. Now she realized how short she would be standing next to the man named Rey. He even had to look down at herself.

"Just think how we could have swapped like this!" Rey said while placing his index finger on his chin. Zinnia couldn't help but think.

"You hit me hard earlier. You hit my head with something hard stuff." Rey began to remember what had happened earlier.

"Hard stuff? You mean my head? It hurts you know. Your head is hard as a rock," Zinnia grumbled as she rubbed Rey's head.

"So our heads hit? I thought your knee that hit my head." Rey also rubbed Zinnia's head.

"Oh my. You're so mean," Zinnia mumbled.

"Eh. But wait!" Zinnia said again while gesturing. She tried to think. Who knows her idea will bring back their exchanged souls.

"Could it be that ... if we bumped again, we can return to our own bodies?" Zinnia asked, looking back at her own face. Rey returned the stare. Now he had to tilt his head slightly.

"Maybe."

"Okay. Let's just try it! Who knows it will work," said Zinnia while getting ready.

"Seriously?" Rey asked incredulously. But he still followed the advice of the girl named Zinnia. He was also getting ready.

"Okay. I'm counting to three, we'll just hit our heads!" Zinnia exclaimed.

"Eh, but wait? Can we get the brain concuss or not?" Zinnia asked again as she stopped her stance.

"Come on! Hurry up! There's no time!" shouted Rey who was getting impatient.

"Okay. Let's get started!" Zinnia gripped her own shoulders with Rey's strong hands. Staring straight at her face.

"One… two … three …." Zinnia said, then banged her head.

"Ouch." They both groaned in pain. They also opened their eyes. However, nothing change.

"Why are we still like this?" Zinnia began to despair.

"Damn it. I have a meeting soon. It's all because of you who jumping on the stairs!" Rey rebuked.

"Why me? That must be you. It's also your fault! Why do you suddenly appear?" Zinnia replied, did not want to lose. Rey kept silent again. He seemed to be remembering something.

"Wait a minute." Rey walked up to the stairs. He then motioned for his own body to face him.

"You said I suddenly appeared, right?" Rey asked. Zinnia just nodded in agreement. "Then which stair did you jump on?" Rey asked again.

"There. If I'm not mistaken the last second or third," Zinnia answered while pointing at the stairs in front of her.

"Then let's reenact what happened earlier," said Rey.

Zinnia who got understand then followed the man's suggestion. She went downstairs and then walked up the stairs Rey had passed. Then, Rey who was on her body jumped like what the girl did before. And the bump happened again. They fell in the same position as before. Their heads throbbed again. It hurt even more because it was the third time they had clashed heads.

"Ouch," groaned Zinnia and Rey at the same time.

"It could be a real brain concussion if it doesn't work," Zinnia muttered as she held her head.

"But it worked, didn't it?" Rey asked. He now returned to his own body. Zinnia who had just woken up stared at the man in front of her. Now she could see Rey's face in a very close distance. The man he bumped into was so handsome. She thought.

"Get out of the way! What the heck you used my body as a landing," said the man while getting rid of Zinnia's small body that was on top of him.

"Alright, alright." Zinnia stood up, still holding her head. There was a slight lump on her forehead.

"Oh. Well. Don't let other people know about this incident, okay?" Rey asked looking at Zinnia.

"Okay. No one would believe it anyways," Zinnia replied.

"That's it. Just go away already!" Rey orders to evict Zinnia.

"Tch. What an arrogant man you are," Zinnia muttered as she took her bag. She quickly walked away from the man. Most importantly she was back in her own body.

Rey was staring Zinnia leave. His head was also still twitching a little. He felt that the girl who had just bumped into him was really insolent. The girl did not even know who Rey was and dared to argue and even insult him.

"Zinnia? So you don't know who I am? Interesting."
