~CASSELBA'S POV
AT THE SOUND OF HER SOFT VOICE, caressing like light music into my ears, I sigh and breathe in deeply. Following Ryan's description, I'd grabbed off the phone from the couch, quickly picking up at the sound of what'd seemed to be the fifth ring.
I hear her voice again and pause. All at once, I'm transported from the realm of blood and death of the previous night into the sweet places of light and calm. Just at the sound of her voice.
"Hello?" I hear as a breathy whisper into the receiver.
I don't reply immediately and her voice comes again.
"Casselba, are you there? Are you alright?"
"Yes, Clarence," I breathe back. "I'm good."
"Alright!"
Her chuckle sounds out bright from the phone and I find myself pressing it harder to my ear. Caden and Ryan filter into my mind every minute of every day, but so does Clarence. Ever since the moment we both met at the Inferno sex club, I just couldn't disperse the thought of her.
