THE NIGHT WAS YOUNG and the mildest showers of an early dew whispered over the state of California. It was about an hour into the sunset and the evening progressed slowly. Businesses closed for the day and the lights in many Offices dimmed out to a gray darkness.
The colossal building of the Hallow Corporation was not left out from the withdrawal that came with the end of day. As the dark slowly closed over the amber shades of twilight, the pale luminescence siftering out the glass exterior of the skyscraper faded away.
Soon, the entire building joined the night in its song.
Casselba, at that moment was just leaving the sturdy gray columns of her college Office. She walked for a few seconds before she emerged into a lamp-lit hallway and moved for her car. The sleek vehicle swept her across the curb as she peeled for home.
