Sister? Of Erebus?
"Boy, you seem to have..."
Before Nyx said anything else, she looked around at the others.
"I can understand why Erebus chose you."
She seemed to change what she was going to say because of those around us.
What about her, though?
She chose Kuro.
"Oh, seems like my time is up."
Nyx suddenly said.
"You all seem like lovely people. Oh, that is quite the face you're making, Maria."
Nyx looked over at the blonde-haired girl beside me.
"Shut up."
She replied instantly.
When I looked down at Ms. Frister, her face was contorted with rage.
It was clear to say that she possessed some sort of grudge against Nyx.
"You know, if you weren't in the body of one of my students, I would've already started to rip you limb from limb."
Imagining that was grim. And no, not because she wanted to tear her limb from limb.
It's because a 3,000-year-old woman, in the form of a child, wants to tear a teenager, who has a goddess inside of her, apart.
Now, that is a gruesome sight.
"Yeah, yeah, I would love to see how you have grown up but that'll have to be for another time."
After Nyx finished her sentence, the shadow car features disappeared and Kuro's posture drew weak. As she was ready to fall, Kaguya jumped forward and caught her.
"Kuroha! You are Kuroha, right?"
She asked, slightly in doubt after what she saw.
The girl opened her eyes, though narrowly, and gave a weak response with a faint smile.
"Y-yeah, I-I am."
Her voice was light.
I guess that form takes almost everything out of her. I thought it'd be like with Altair and I.
When the time was up, I instantly returned, perfectly fine. Well, that was because Altair did beat Aden-Lada without getting hurt badly and because of the contract formed between Kuro and I.
"Can you stand?"
Ms. Frister walked over to her and tried to support her.
Kuro was able to stand, but it seemed like she couldn't walk on her own. She held her forehead.
"What was that, Kuro-chan?"
Emika asked.
"Ngh... Like what you saw."
She replied, keeping her replies short and brief.
"Like what we saw?"
Kaguya tilted her head, confused.
"She means that it's just as we saw it. A goddess possessed her body and used it. That seems to be the price of her new form."
Ms. Frister explained.
Something's bothering me though.
Kuro said that she wanted to test her new form. Meaning that...
"Kuro,"
I called out to her.
The girl looked in my direction.
"What?"
"This was your first time using this... Nyx state, right?"
She nodded.
"Thought so. The reason your body is weak right now is probably because it was your first time."
I hypothesized.
I noticed their glances and realized that I had to make it seem like it was simply a logical thought.
"Ah, uh, I mean, we can assume that when she uses her Nyx state that she and Nyx swap over in leadership of her body, meaning that her mana channels also change to Nyx's. Do you feel pain all over your body, Kuro?"
"Yeah, it feels like the inside of my bones is ready to burst."
The girl said.
"Like that. Her body wasn't accustomed to Nyx's mana flow and is now suffering the repercussions."
I explained.
Of course, this is all just conjecture. No, it's just some bullshit I made right here right now and made it sound like it makes sense.
"That does make sense..."
Emika pondered.
Mission success!
"Assuming that whenever Nyx comes out, she can use however much magic before the time runs out, this is a definite trump card."
The small girl concluded.
Ms. Frister is right. It didn't seem like she expended too much mana despite having those hand silhouettes kill the panther.
If I made something like that, it would take me quite a bit of mana.
If we also presume that the side effects are the same each time, then this will Nyx state will be more powerful the more dangerous the situation.
"At any rate, we shouldn't tell anyone at school. Not even the principal."
"Huh, Ms. Frister, why?"
Emika was the one who was confused.
"It's simple. If students find out that a second-year, Kuroha, can transform into an all-powerful god, who knows what they'll do? There are nobles too. They may not show it, but some nobles go too far."
Kaguya was the one who answered Emika.
"Honestly, the students aren't the ones I'm worried about."
"Hm? Who then?"
When I heard Ms. Frister talk while looking at the ground, I became curious.
Ms. Frister turned to me.
"I'm worried about the principal."
"The principal. Principal Kamish? Why?"
"You may not know it but I used to work in the Magi military with Kyoko."
Ms. Frister in the military? I wonder how that went.
"Stop snickering in your thoughts otherwise I'll have you dance to death."
"Yes, ma'am."
I haven't felt this threatened even in an actual battle.
"Anyway, Kyoko and I were of the same rank, Major. We often butted heads but I would win the majority of the time."
"So, what's there to be afraid of?"
I asked.
"Just... something about her. I remember when she heard of Excalibur. When she did, there was a stomach-churning grin on her face. Later on, she said that she would do anything to get it."
"You mean that..."
"Yes, if Kyoko Kamish finds out about Nyx, she'll do whatever she can to get Kuro into her hands. She may even resort to your expulsion because you're most likely to interrupt."
Great, we just cleaned our hands of a bad principal and we have another one taking up the seat. Well, isn't that lovely?
"Ah, since we cleared the dungeon, we should probably exit."
Emika suggested.
"You're right."
Kaguya said and I nodded.
"Remember, you must not tell anyone of Kuro's Nyx state."
Ms. Frister lectured us.
The girl then turned to me.
"And you, Shoya, when we get back to school, come to my office at 7:00 pm. I need to discuss something with you."
Her meeting arrangement surprised me. I was caught off guard.
"Oh, uh, sure."
We then left the dungeon and headed back to school.
