The assembly passed and we were brought to our homeroom class together. We were in the 1-A classroom.
"You all are now a part of my class."
We all sat down in our assigned seats. At the front, behind the lectern, was a girl. She looked younger than us. She was shorter than all of us too; she had long blonde hair, which was a side-tail, and baby-blue eyes. She was wearing a black fur coat.
"Who's she?"
"A child as our homeroom teacher? What is the principal thinking?"
"This is a mockery."
It was clear to me that most of the students here were of noble descent. I mean, nobles are the sensitive ones who find anything a joke.
I didn't see it that way though. How could I knowing who that girl standing in front of us was?
"Hey, is this really what Altheria Academy is all about?"
A boy stood up from the back of the class. He was tall, with a smug look on his face, with bright red hair.
"Having a girl teach a high-end noble like me is unthinkable."
"Then you have no brain at all."
The teacher retorted.
Some people in the class laughed while the boy became enraged.
"Huh?! What'd you say, you brat, do you know who I am?!"
"Yes, I do. You're Kazuma Homura of the Homura clan. Though the second-born of the family, you're the heir due to your sister's erratic and chaotic behavior."
The red-haired boy, Homura-san, winced when he heard her.
He clicked his tongue and then gave a shaken smile.
"S-so, you do know who I am."
"Though you are the heir, your sister is the one who is always praised for her strength."
"What did you say?! Who do you think you are insulting me, the heir to the Homura clan?!"
The boy pointed at her. Then he punched himself for some reason.
"What the? Why did I--? I can't control my hand."
"I am Maria Frister, your homeroom teacher. Now, sit down so we can get things going."
The girl, Ms Frister, pointed her finger downwards and Homura-san sat down. He was in a stiff position.
I knew it. This girl is Maria Frister known as the Playwright Magia.
It's a special spell, not a Singularity, which allows her to control people like puppets. Sometimes, people say that they don't realize that they're being controlled.
"Hey, I can't--move!"
The boy tried to move from his position but he couldn't move at all. To be honest, it's not surprising knowing who she is now.
"Now, I'll start explaining some things that you may already know..."
I wonder what my first day will be like.
---
The first day was done. It was a lot of things. History, AST, and Ancient Runes. History was just Streia history which I'm good at. AST was horrible for me. I'm like a normal person fighting for the first time. Inexperienced in physical combat when I'm in the Streia course.
Ancient Runes is right up my alley. Learning about basic runes is easy.
Basically, I'm good at anything that isn't fighting. To be honest, they put me in the wrong course.
Well, now, it's time to go to my dorm. If I'm correct, I was in the first building.
"I'm on the second floor."
And so, I ascended the stairs.
"Room 211. Ah, here it is."
Luckily, the room is next to the stairs, so I don't need to go look for it. I have the keys right here in my pocket.
I got the door's key out.
I guess I'm not living with anyone. I didn't make any friends today, so I guess I'm back to being a loner like I was for most of middle school.
Opening the door, I sighed.
"I'm just good old Kisuke Fujiwara, the nerdy and good-for-nothing Streia."
"Haha! Good one! Go, go for the next one!"
It was at that moment that I heard shouting. I looked ahead. There was someone else in my room. He was clearly enjoying himself. He was eating popcorn while watching cat-fighting videos.
"Yeah! Like that! Man, I never knew how fun watching videos like this would be."
He seemed to say to himself.
Then, he turned.
"Hm?"
The boy had black hair and eyes, nothing special. The moment he saw me, the boy turned off the TV.
"You didn't see anything."
Those were the first words he said to me.
Anyway, getting a good look at him, I feel like I've seen him before...
"What are you doing in my room?"
I asked him.
"Your room? I was told that I'd be living alone."
"No one said anything to me..."
There was a slight vibration. The boy picked up his phone from the table and looked at it. The next moment, he growled in anger.
"That principal! She lied to me! God, I can already imagine her smiling face. She's so annoying!"
He shouted.
"Uhm..."
Upon hearing me, he calmed down.
"So, what's your name?"
He smiled.
"I'm Kisuke Fujiwara, a first-year."
I introduced myself.
"Nice to meet you, Fujiwara."
"Oh, please, call me Kisuke. It feels weird when someone calls me by my second name."
Plus, I don't particularly like it.
"Well, Kisuke, have you heard the rumors about second-years?"
I put my bag down and walked close to him.
"I think so. But could you still tell me?"
"There are two new transfer students. One is someone from Queen's Voyage."
Queen's Voyage? Why does that name sound so--!
"Oh, Queen's Voyage as in the band?!"
The boy nodded.
"No way! Someone from that famous band joined our school?! Who is it?! Is it Crest? It could be the lovely girl, Nina?! Trina, maybe?! Or perhaps, Reina?!"
I love Queen's Voyage! Like, who doesn't?
He didn't smile at all. He looked slightly annoyed.
"S-sorry, was I fangirling too much?"
"No, I'm frowning not because of your fangirling but I'm frowning because you named everyone except for the actual person."
I thought for a second.
"You mean, it's--"
"It's Vienna. The one that is a 'misfit.'"
He didn't seem happy saying that.
"S-so, who's the other transfer student?"
"It's Kaguya Homura. Apparently, last year, she was taken out due to her behavior and familial problems."
Homura... That's the same surname as that boy who acted up in today's homeroom.
"Ah, I heard that a red-haired senpai had a duel with Shoya Sasaki and lost. She supposedly kissed him in class too."
I told him.
"O-oh, really..."
The boy looked away from me. He seemed slightly shaken.
"Now, that I think about it, I haven't asked for your name. What is your name?"
"Well, uh... I'm Shoya Sasaki..."
Eh...
"Huh?!"
