Our mana clashed as we continued to release more.
Wings of light sprouted from Chrysus' back. These made him look more like a Seraph.
He opened his palms and two rapiers were made. He gripped them tightly and made an 'X' pose with the rapiers. On each side of him, a tiger of light was made.
Looks like he really was going all out.
Compared to him, my final move isn't as impressive and as elegant as his. He looks like an angel while I look like a beast!
I got onto my arms and legs, creating gauntlets and boots, I began concentrating my mana into my body. The mana raged outwards, creating a boar shape around me.
"More! I'll take it up another notch!"
I pushed out even more mana from my body.
"Erebus!"
I summoned Erebus, controlling it with mana, it floated in the air above me, transforming into a bow.
The bow made lots of flaming arrows aimed at Chrysus.
I'm lucky I have a large mana pool, otherwise, I would've fainted from trying to control Erebus from afar.
Chrysus put his rapiers at his side. He was ready and so was I.
As he flew towards me, I ran too. The two tigers of light followed behind him. Erebus fired the jet-black flaming arrows at once at him. Chrysus jabbed his rapiers at me.
"BEHEMOTH!"
"ADAM!"
I screamed and Chrysus shouted in his distorted voice.
Our attacks met and there was an explosion.
---
"Huh?!"
I woke up.
What happened?
I looked around. The place was a mess. Rubble was everywhere and there was some intense mana residue. White and black flames were crackling around a large crater in the middle.
Ah, right, I had an ultimate move clash with Chrysus. What happened to him?
I stood up, slightly in pain.
"There he is."
He was behind me. A bit far though. He was still unconscious.
"I'm sorry to do this."
I summoned Erebus, as a bow, and took aim. I had a clear shot of Chrysus' chest. I had a clear shot but...
My hands began trembling.
"Huh? He's dangerous. A Seraph. Seraphs are primal creatures who are extremely powerful. If I don't kill him here, who knows what he'll do later. Yet... Yet... My hands are trembling. Why am I scared? Familiars don't die anyway..."
I couldn't take the shot. Even after consoling myself, my hands wouldn't stop shaking. The sheer thought of taking something similar to human life is inconceivable to me.
I would love to think of him as some sort of beast because he's a Familiar but there's Kuro. If I killed him because I thought of him as a beast, what would that mean for Kuro? Do I think she's a beast? No, I don't. I don't. So, what do I--
"Stop!"
A voice shouted.
I was pushed onto the ground.
"What the..."
A girl stood before me. Her body was spread outwards as if she was using herself as a barrier.
"Kuro?"
"Don't hurt Chrysus, you devil!"
No, she's not Kuro though she does look like her.
The girl resembled my partner, Kuroha, slightly. I'm talking about her face. The girl had snow-white hair with fluffy ears, a little taller than Kuro's cat ears. Her eyes were blue, reminding me of ice. She wore a white and purple dress and she looked like she was 13.
"Hurt Chrysus..."
I repeated.
"Hurt?! What'd you mean hurt?! He's the one who came and attacked me out of nowhere!"
"No! You attacked him with your scythe first!"
"That's because he unleashed some deadly bloodlust!"
Both of us began squabbling like children.
"Hold on, you saw the fight?"
Where was she watching from? There's no place in this room where someone could hide and watch.
"Yeah, I can watch specific people I like!"
Some sort of ability then.
"So, why are you here?"
She asked me.
"Hm? You're asking?"
"Who else? Why are you here?!"
"I was just in the toilet then I was transported here all of a sudden!"
"Lies!"
Why is she denying everything I'm telling her?
"Why am I lying?"
"Because I summoned Shoya Sasaki here and you're not Shoya Sasaki. You interrupted my summon and came to kill me."
Huh? She said what?
"Hold on, hold on, could you repeat that?"
I asked the girl.
She looked down at me and sighed.
"I said, I summoned Shoya Sasaki and you interrupted the summon and were transported here instead. You came to kill me."
I pointed at myself.
"But I am Shoya Sasaki."
The girl stayed silent for a few seconds.
"No, you're not."
"Yes, I am."
"No, you're not."
"Yes, I am."
"NO, YOU'RE NOT!"
"YES, I AM!"
God, I feel like I'm a 5-year-old again. I remember having arguments with the kids from my school all the time.
"You're not! Shoya Sasaki is way more handsome than you! Besides, Shoya Sasaki doesn't have white eyes!"
Ah, right, I'm still in my Takami-kun cosplay. Anyway, why did this girl summon me here? From the way she's talking, I think she's...
"Then check."
"Hah?!"
"You can check what Shoya Sasaki is doing right now, can't you? Since you like him."
The girl blushed. She also glared at me. Seemed like she felt challenged.
"Fine, I'll show you what he's doing!"
The girl swiped the air. A holographic screen appeared. It said, 'ENTER.'
"Shoya Sasaki."
The holographic screen flickered and changed. When it changed, it showed me, on the floor, looking at the holographic screen though it showed me from behind.
"Eh."
"See."
The girl began panicking. I could see the confusion and scared look on her face. Her finger shivered as she pointed at me.
"B-b-b-but your eyes..."
I took off my contacts and put them back into the box and ruffled up my hair. Now, the person she should be seeing is the real and, not fake, Shoya Sasaki.
"Here I am."
"W-w-what... No way..."
And the girl fainted.
"Hey! Oi! Oi! Wake up!"
