October 31st, you know what day that is since I know. It's Halloween. For Halloween, I'm dressed as...
"Woah, I'm surprised you pulled off the Takami-kun look. You really do look like him."
Kei said, taking a picture of me using her phone.
"Oi, no photos."
"What? It's to commemorate the occasion."
I'm dressed as a character from one of my favourite slice-of-life animes called 'You can't, Takami-kun!'
Basically, in this anime, Takami-kun is a super hot guy who is usually doing whatever he wants but he changes when this new girl transfers to his school and starts to attach herself to him.
To be honest, Kei did my hair slightly differently and I'm wearing white contacts and that's it. The cool tracksuit I'm wearing is what he wore during a critical arc called the Forest arc. In that arc, things happen to the girl and her group and Takami-kun swears to protect them. Specifically, the girl.
Honestly, he's an amazing character.
"Cool outfit of Takami-kun dude!"
Some guy called out.
"Thanks!"
I said.
Today, on Halloween, we're in Shibuya since we kind of want to have some public Halloween parties. Well, that's what Kei said she wanted.
Though it is crowded here, it feels almost natural.
"Oh, I see someone cosplaying as Viema from Sacred Fantasy! Wait here!"
Kei ran off.
Kei is currently cosplaying as the girl from 'You can't, Takami-kun,' Yumi Kawahara. She completely decked herself out for the cosplay. She's in the girl's school uniform and is wearing a brown wig with green contacts. Not to mention the tattered sweatband that she wears in memory of her father.
Guess I better wait here.
"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!"
I turned to a group of girls who seemed to be freaking out, looking at me.
"What's wrong?"
I asked, instinctively.
I already knew why they were freaking out. My costume.
"Uhm, are you by any chance Takami-kun from, 'You can't, Takami-kun?!'"
I nodded.
"Can we get some photos?!"
Another girl asked.
"Sure."
And so, we had a 5-minute photo shoot. People began crowding around as I posed for them and I began to attract attention.
I dressed as Takami-kun since I thought I wouldn't stick out too much but this is why more than 'not sticking out.'
I stopped posing and people began giving a round of applause.
Why are people so kind here in Shibuya?!
"Are you a model?"
"Can I get a photo?"
"Are you Takami-kun?"
I need to get out of here. There is no reason for me to be answering to all of these people.
"Get out of the way!"
Kei came through the crowd, physically pushing people out of the way.
"Oh shit, it's a Yumi cosplay!"
"Hey, doesn't this remind you of that one scene in season two?"
"Now that I think about it, you're right!"
"Take pictures!"
Holy shit!
People here are crazy. I know that contradicts my earlier words but... yeah. That was before.
"These people don't take hints, do they?"
I asked Kei.
Instead of answering, she looked at me. Her look wasn't filled with any malice but I still think she was glaring at me.
"Pose for them."
"Ugh, do I have to?"
Kei pointed at my chest.
"Hey, I'm the shut-in here. I can get my 15 minutes of fame and have a potential career as a model in the future if everything goes wrong."
Her eyes suddenly reminded me of a pleading younger sister.
I gave up resistance.
And so, I swallowed my pride and we both posed for those who wanted pictures. There was one where someone told us to kiss.
Of course, don't worry, we didn't do that but the closest thing we did was put our faces next to each other.
---
"That was tiring..."
I sighed.
"You know, for once, you're right. Even if we're Streia, posing for an hour and a half straight is a bit..."
It was 9:37 pm now, meaning that we'd been posing since 8 pm.
"I'm never going to listen to you next Halloween."
"Please don't. That's probably for the best."
Kei caught her breath.
"So, where's Tatsuya and the gang? I thought that they would join us for a friendly trick or treating?"
"Let me check."
And so, I messaged the group chat called 'Altheria Bois!'
It was named by Tatsuya. He named it that despite there being more girls than boys.
I texted the chat.
--[Hey, when are you guys going to arrive in Shibuya?]
I texted.
Then, Akane wrote something.
[Sorry! We're still on the train. It's me, Kuro, Tatsuya and Anastasia. It's because this stupid idiot Tatsuya decided to come late. We'll be there in around 15 minutes.]--
I felt like we should've waited for them.
Oh well.
--[It's fine. Kei and I will wait for you guys at the station.]
[Thanks.]--
And that conversation ended.
"Kei, let's go back to the station. Akane and the lot are going to be there in 15 minutes or so."
"Eh, what about comparing cosplay with others?"
The girl asked.
"There are usually more people the later it is. We'll trick or treat then compare outfits."
"Huh, why trick or treat first?"
"Because we're fucking teenagers. Plus, if a group of teenagers went to a single house for trick or treating then it would just be weird. We'll do it in groups of two for an hour or so before coming back here for Halloween parties. It's also getting late, if we do it now, who knows when we'll be able to trick or treat."
"True..."
Kei admitted though bitterly.
I sighed.
"Let's go."
---
A Shonan-Shinjuku Line train will arrive in 4 minutes.
That should be the train that Akane and the rest of the group are on. I'm kind of surprised they got the same train as us though.
I thought they would have gotten a Saikyō Line train.
When Kei and I were coming here, we took a Keihin-Tōhoku Line train from Saitama-Shintoshin to Ōmiya station and took a Shonan-Shinjuku Line train from Ōmiya to here, Shibuya.
"Kei, I'm going to go to the toilet."
I told her, standing up and pointing at the toilets.
"Cool. Just be back before the train comes."
She said, waving dismissively at me.
I went to go take a leak. Luckily, there wasn't anyone in the cubicles. I don't like using public toilets.
After finishing up, I started washing my hands.
"Hm, there's something in my eye."
I decided to wipe my eyes with water.
However, as I did so, the temperature of the room suddenly changed. It became increasingly colder.
I slowly opened my eyes.
"What the..."
When my eyes perceived the surroundings, I wasn't in the toilets anymore. I was in a cold dark place. It looked extremely decrepit. The walls were made from black bricks with glowing purple symbols.
I felt incredibly cold. It felt like I was in an igloo.
"Where the fuck am I?"
