Chapter 81 - Exodia 81: Imperial Domination

Durandal.

The Erasure Sword that Kyoka wielded. Of course, Durandal was not a katana. The true form of Durandal is an elegant sword. It looks similar to a bastard sword.

However, Durandal is not the katana but the blade itself. That is why no matter what form Durandal takes, it never gets stained with any sort of mess. That is because it is a Holy Artifact and a Holy Armament, essentially meaning that this sword is most effective to those who have given themselves up to the darkness and the creatures called demons.

With its Absorption and Expel function, it is an extremely powerful Holy Armament. One of the strongest. But not the strongest.

Since the strongest Holy Armament is Excalibur. A sword that does not exist in the physical world anymore.

"Hold on... That sword. How did you...?"

Weissmann squints his eyes as he saw Kyoka unsheath a second sword from her waist.

Durandal in her left and the other in her right.

Suddenly, Weissmann snapped.

"Tell me! How the fuck did you get that sword?!"

Kyoka stayed silent.

"It is impossible for someone who is not an Armament Contractor to summon this sword! Even if you were one, the sword should at least be King-Class, if not, Deity-Class. So, how?!"

Kyoka sighed.

"How do you have the True Holy Sword, Excalibur?!"

Weissmann was correct.

Excalibur had disappeared from the physical world after a large incident 5 years ago. It could only be summoned.

Even if Kyoka was an Armament Contractor, she would not be able to summon Excalibur since there was little chance she could summon a King-Class weapon, let alone a Deity-Class.

So, how?

How was Kyoka able to wield Excalibur?

The answer was that the sword she was wielding, currently, was not Excalibur.

It was not a Holy Armament at all but a weapon created with similar features to one.

5 years ago, when Excalibur disappeared from the physical world, the Sakai clan, under the request of Kyoka Sakai and Kai Sakai, Kyoka's younger brother and the head of the Sakai clan at the age of 8, researched all that they could about Excalibur.

With all that information and with money, and connections, they were able to craft a weapon similar to the True Holy Sword, Excalibur. Even its special ability, Severance, which allows the sword to cut through anything no matter how hard it is, had been replicated.

Though, when Kyoi Sakai, the ex-head of the Sakai clan, tested the weapon, it ended out being a failure.

The reason was that it drained Kyoi's mana directly from his nexus.

He could not wield it. No one could.

No one but Kyoka.

The reason she was able to wield it is because her nexus is damaged, so the sword cannot absorb her mana completely.

Thus, this weapon was to be named Caliburn, the other name for Excalibur.

A sword that Kyoka would use when she needed an advantage.

Since the condition for using Caliburn is...

That she has to use her special ability when she wants to use the sword.

The special ability made by her pure pressure, force, strength and intimidation.

Imperial Domination.

"Huh? What's with this sudden chill?"

Weissmann whispered to himself, stopping the bleeding in his shoulder by burning the wound. He still could not move his arm as well.

Kyoka's aura changed.

The look in her eyes was deadly. Almost like a predator watching its prey, focused. She gave off a thick aura of death. An aura so thick that Weissmann could not omit currently, even if he wanted to.

Imperial Domination.

By focusing her all on hurting her opponent severely or wanting to kill them, Kyoka can intimidate any opponent. May the opponent be an Emperor or a Mortal Sin. This also increases her physical capabilities. Strength, endurance, speed, stamina, all of it.

It was quick, but with two steps, Kyoka had already closed the gap between them. She swung her swords at him, mercilessly.

Weissmann had to repeatedly cast his Ice Sword Singularity in each hand since, with each slice of each blade, a sword would break.

If Weissmann stopped making even one sword, he would suffer an injury. The fact that his left arm moved slower than his right hindered him since Kyoka used Caliburn with her right arm.

When she broke through, she swiped upwards at his body with Caliburn. It left a cut from his abdomen until his collarbone.

Weissmann dodged backwards, barely able to dodge a fatal blow.

Kyoka clicked her tongue, annoyed.

Weissmann stayed back, trying to regain his mana. He wasted more than necessary on continuously making Ice Swords.

(What's with her sudden increase in strength? There's no way that this girl doesn't have a Singularity. That increase in strength is abnormal.)

No.

It is not a Singularity. Just a simple ability that she made on her own. In fact, if they find the right method, anyone can do it. Though, omitting a thick aura of death is something that not just anyone can do.

(Plus, the fact that she has Excalibur in her hands means that she's a good Armament Contractor. Definitely World-class.)

Weissmann noticed something weird when he looked over at Kyoka.

She was glaring daggers into him, which still caused him to shiver, but she was not advancing. Why?

(Why isn't she coming?)

Ideas trickled into his mind.

(Maybe Excalibur is too much for her to handle for a long time or that Singularity of hers. Hm? No, that's not it!)

He saw that the katana in her left hand was smoking slightly. A sword should not smoke ordinarily, so the answer is...

(There's a limit to how much Durandal can absorb. I'm guessing that after it releases all of the mana within it, Durandal can't absorb mana for a set amount of time. The reason why she isn't attacking me is because she's sure that she can beat me...)

"Fine then."

Weissmann said.

He put his index finger in front of him and pointed it at her.

"I'll play your little game. Let us have some fun."
