Chapter 60 - Exodia 60: It was simply a lie

No matter how different other high schools and academies may be. They all have a certain thing in common.

In fact, even middle schools have this too.

A group of specially selected students to maintain order within the school. If not for them, then schools would simply be lawless playgrounds.

Student Council.

Always led by a president and co-led by a vice-president.

They have members such as:

Student Council President, vice-president, treasurer, secretary, disciplinary officer and etcetera.

Usually, Disciplinary Committee and the Student Council are separate in schools, however, within Altheria, they are one in the same.

This is due to the absolute ruling of the Student Council President, Kyoka Sakai.

She was renowned as a school beauty. Despite having only started school last year, she was able to become Student Council President in her first year.

Her hair was long and black with a streak of white. Her eyes were blue and she had a mole on her mouth.

The president was accompanied by her secretary and treasurer.

Firstly, the secretary, Hayami Ito.

Completely loyal to Kyoka Sakai, she spends most of her day serving her or fantasizing about her.

Then, the treasurer, Shouto Fujiwara.

At first, he didn't like Sakai and wasn't taken in by her. However, after she continuously reached out to him, she gained his trust and later became her treasurer.

Seeing as he is the only male in the Student Council, the girls and others either mock him or yell at him with jealousy.

The three were outside of the principal's office.

"Prez... Why are we out here?"

Shouto asked with consternation.

Kyoka turned to him.

"Well, I have something I want to discuss with the principal."

"But, President, the tournament starts in 2 hours and 30 minutes. We have to be there early to prepare."

"And we will, Hayami, but this comes first."

The President knocked on the door. After a few seconds, they got an answer.

"Come in."

She opened the door and went in. Her secretary and treasurer followed behind her. They closed the door.

"What brings the Student Council President to my office?"

Weissmann asked, shoving his paperwork aside. Faith was beside him. Ophelia was nowhere to be seen.

Kyoka gave a wry smile as she sat down in the chair. The girl leaned back on her chair.

Her eyes seemed to have a sly look in them.

"'A new World Order,' was it?"

"What are you-."

Weissmann's eyes widened and he swiftly looked up at Kyoka.

"Do they know?"

He looked over at Hayami and Shouto.

"Leave us."

Kyoka ordered Hayami and Shouto.

The boy was ready to retort but Hayami stopped him. She shook her head at him and they both left. Leaving only the President, Principal and the maid.

Weissmann's eyes faded into black and glowed yellow. He readied his hand.

"Are you sure you want to hurt me?"

The man stops. His eyes turn to a slit.

"My secretary and treasurer are outside. If you kill me, it will be obvious that you killed me. Plus..."

Kyoka looked over at Faith, who looked slightly disturbed.

Realising the reality of the situation, Weissmann returned to his normal self.

Kyoka Sakai used her subjects as witnesses.

Even the Student Council President knew that she couldn't beat the Principal without some sort of trick up her sleeve.

That she didn't have.

Instead, she made a threat.

If Kyoka Sakai was murdered in a room where there were minimal people, it would be obvious who the perpetrator was.

Even if Weissmann blames it on Faith, he would still be reprimanded for letting it happen.

The option of acting ignorant was out since he gave a surprising reaction to her line.

Essentially, the one who was at an advantage was Kyoka Sakai.

Weissmann had no way out of it.

He was stuck.

"How did you hear that?"

He mumbled.

"We have eyes and ears everywhere."

Weissmann grimaced.

"So, then you..."

"Yes, the 23 citizens who were killed by 'accident,' were merely sacrifices for your enjoyment."

The principal chuckled slightly.

"I doubt you got this on your own."

He said.

"Then, that trip from two months ago at the start of the year. I bet you... went to see her."

Kyoka smiled wickedly.

"Yes, we saw the Azure Destiny, the Mortal Sin of Sloth, Atlanta Cross."

Weissmann facepalmed while displaying a nervous smile.

"I should've never let you go. It was a mistake."

"Truth be told, it would not matter if we went or not."

The president announced.

Faith spoke for the first time.

"What do you mean?"

"Because of an entity in the school, you would have greedily made your move after he matured. Shoya Sasaki, the Black Emperor, I mean."

Weissmann squinted his eyes.

"Nothing but a chick now."

He claimed.

"Is that what you think? He's stronger than you think he is."

"What would you know?"

"What the Azure Destiny told me."

They glared at each other before Kyoka suddenly stood up and stretched herself.

"I believe I've overstayed my visit."

"Are you not afraid that I'll kill you in your sleep?"

She stopped stretching and started laughing.

"You could, very indeed, do that."

Her tone changed.

"However, the moment I'm in danger, the whole city will hear the broadcast of this conversation."

The president reached into her pocket and took out a small device. She clicked on it and it replayed what Kyoka first said.

["'A new World Order,' was it?"]

"That's a bluff."

"Oh, Principal, I'm sure you know by now, that I have never bluffed in my life."

Weissmann gritted his teeth.

He couldn't do anything to hurt Kyoka or the ones who were related to her. If he did, she would broadcast the conversation, revealing himself, ultimately, ruining his plan.

"As long as you don't make a move, I won't."

The ash-blonde man smirked.

"Was that a bluff?"

"No,"

Kyoka spoke.

"It was simply a lie."

She said, leaving the room.
