Chapter 20 - New world

How long have we been waiting now, a couple of hours? Although the line has relatively gotten shorter to an extent. Roem stopped talking to lisha at some point as well, I'm sure a person who keeps to herself all the time wouldn't know how to pursue a conversation to the tea.

That may be, while we were talking before she did seem much more open than I originally had thought.

If I didn't see her here and there within the academy, there's no doubt in my mind that I would have thought of her as an ordinary everyday adolescent girl.

Roem on the other hand, exactly on point kind of personality I predicted beforehand. Rude and arrogant. Selfish and lawless.

Giant broad shoulders, sharp build with brawny muscles. Two giant axes hung head downwards behind his back, hooked on two latches against his back.

Heavy armour attached to his chest with an insignia designed across to the right. Along with iron plates located at his kneecaps and ankles. Iron boots with leather leggings and a belt coloured in gold.

His face stoic, broadened jaw and chin. Straight cunning eyes and short ashen red hair. And a grin with endless malice within.

Nearing the front now. Finally catching glimpses at what goes on the entrance. Instructors lining up students and taking each group at a time. My only concern was the sheer number that was entering the dungeon at once.

Wouldn't it cause problems?

"Done. Group number 9 of class 12-10 enter through the gates and step on the platform and it'll transport you to random part of the dungeon." The instructor reassured a worried student hurriedly.

"next!" he yells loudly for the next group to come forth.

That's us I believe? I'm not sure considering whether there's maybe a few more ahead of Roem.

"Yes sir!" Roem exclaims in a commanding voice.

"right your class and group number?" the lecturer asked in a timid voice.

"class 12-25 and group number 5" he spoke out freely.

"ok done, head on in through the gates. No need to be afraid, it'll transport your group to a random location on the first level of the dungeon" he told us mindfully.

Heading up the stairs and standing as closest to the entrance as I've ever been in my life.

So excited and fearful at the same time. Looking at the other two, I gave my glance towards lisha who was ahead of me on my right, immediately picking up the detail that she was sneakily looking by me for a moment.

And instantly changed her eyesight towards the entrance. Perhaps there was something behind me? As I gave a quick glance to see there was nothing.

Enter. Beginning of a small flight of stairs and on top is what seemed to be a closed of entrance that only showed darkness when glancing inside, along with a designed insignia of the academy printed on the floor.

"we stand here right?" I spoke out towards the examiners.

"Yes you do no need to worry, the teleporter will begin now" an examiner near the left side if the entrance reminded me casually, as he carried away documents in tow.

"ok thank you" I thank him as he leaves to the other side.

"alright, everyone ready. The teleported will start now." Another examiner by towards us from our left this time.

"yes we're ready" roem states without our say.

"ok teleporting starting in 3…2…1…click*" backing away to where he was positioned before as he counted down to one. Reaching his hand towards a button on the wall on the left most side.

A bright white flash enveloped me, looking at my gloved hand as I do, slowly turning to a bright glowing white while my skin colour and clothes everlastingly turned along with it. Finally disappearing as if it was never there to begin with.

The whole world slowly tuned white until completely becoming nothing, an entire space filled with emptiness.

A minute passed by, completely entranced by the overwhelming feeling. Little specks and particles finally came loose. Breaking away at the temporary palpable cage that we were locked into.

Rocks, a cramped narrow space, black glowing minerals indistinguishable by shape, my two group members who were in front of me had white streaks of paint slowing evaporating off of them.

"Agh. My head! Is this the dungeon" nausea threw me of at sight.

We were at the depths in the first level of the dungeon, everything completely new to me. Nothing I've ever seen before.

A brand new world in a sense!
