Sheila almost couldn't believe her ears. He was standing before her, affirming that the very ring he had collected from Charlotte had been found at the murder scene. What did he expect her to make of it?
"What do you mean?" she asked Smile. "You killed Melania?"
"No," he sighed hitting his palm on his forehead. "Don't you get it? I'm being framed here. Someone stole the ring from me."
"How can I believe you now?" Sheila frowned. "You've killed a man before."
"If I was a killer, you'd be dead by now," Smile said looking her straight in the eyes. "You're not the type a criminal wants to keep as bait."
"I'll take that as a compliment," Sheila said.
"But who would want to frame me?" Smile asked, looking around.
"For starters," Sheila said. "Pukki Ratzinger.
"No," Smile shook his head. "I don't think he could do such a thing. He's a detective."
"For a criminal…" Sheila started. "You're pretty dumb."
