Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 The Dunkelheit

Twelve hours ago. When Randolph had not woken up and was still being cared for by dr. Leywin.

Larde Von Lowe summoned the two guild masters who had direct or indirect contact with Randolph. The two guild masters are Eve from Sedes Sapia and Beatrix from Pranvere Town.

Both of them were not summoned by Larde Von Lowe, but by His Majesty the King himself that wanted to meet with both of them in person to discuss who Randolph really was and what his background was.

The meeting occurred because when the royal investigators were interrogating the gatekeepers who were illegally paid by the Brown Orc race, they had a dim view when Randolph was saved by The Masked aka Shadow.

The royal investigators immediately alerted their supreme commander, His Majesty King Allearie Shone, but through Larde Von Lowe.

"Can you tell me where he came from?" asked the king to Beatrix who saw Randolph for the first time in his city.

"Forgive me before, Your Majesty. However, until now I have not been able to find out the identity of this child and his two other friends. When they were first found, the three of them were reportedly lying unconscious at one of the border gates out the city of Pranvere, Your Majesty," said Beatrix who bowed slightly as she explained to Allearie Shone.

His Majesty the King's brow furrowed.

"So he's not alone. Then what about the other two? Where are they now?," Allearie Shone asked Beatrix again.

His two other friends managed to also work as mercenaries for Pranvere Town. They are both now rank D and are currently carrying out quests located on the Svolvord continent. As far as reports I have received from spies who did quests with the two of them, it seems they are indeed an ordinary child, Your Majesty," said Beatrix.

His Majesty the King nodded his head several times while his right hand stroked his chin as well. He seemed to be thinking about something.

"What about you Eve, do you think the boy looks suspicious?"

Now it was Eve's turn to bow to the young king.

"Nothing, Your Majesty. In my view, it seems he is just an ordinary child that possesses extraordinary powers"

Now Allaerie Shone seemed interested in Eve's answer, "Can you explain why you can say that he has extraordinary powers?"

Eve took a deep breath as if she was going to tell the whole story in one breath.

"According to Agneshia, a member of The Five Schone Krieger, when she first found him in Underground Prison, the boy didn't look tired, he managed to walk from the cell where he was held until he found the location of the first slavery. Though according to Agneshia, he was subjected to tremendous torture. In fact, according to the girl the boy's hands and feet contained a power sealing artifact," Eve seemed to conclude.

"Impossible!, the power sealing artifact has troublesome side effects for all those sealed by it," interrupted Larde Von Lowe, looking shocked.

"What does that mean? Explain it," asked the king.

"The Strength Sealing Artifact has the side effect of not only weakening the power affected by the seal but also making them extremely exhausted," Beatrix stated to His Highness Allaerie Shone.

Because of Larde Von Lowe's words, His Majesty the King is now even more excited to hear Eve's story about Randolph.

"Continue"

"While accompanying the boy to complete his first quest as a test mercenary, Agneshia also looked taken aback. That child was also able to defeat an evolved Orc, and he also has a transformation skill which is very rare in this world. He has a transformation skill that can transform him into a Werewolf. However, it seems the kid still hasn't fully mastered the skill," Eve continued.

These words now not only attracted His Majesty the King but also Larde Von Lowe and Beatrix's attention turned to the woman.

"Werewolf, hmm. Very interesting indeed. But like you said it's like a double-edged sword if he can't master it," Allaerie Shone commented.

"...and according to Agneshia, he only needs a few hours to recover. I conclude that the child also has the power to heal itself," added Eve.

"Your Majesty, allow me to give my opinion on this matter," said Beatrix.

"Rare transformation skills as well as good self-healing and defensive abilities? That's amazing," muttered Allaerie Shone before allowing Beatrix to give an opinion.

.Allaerie Shone stretched out his hand for Beatrix to make her suggestion.

"According to me, if the words of the royal investigators are true, that child can become a problem for all mankind if he is on the side of The Masked man. However, if he does have that power and we can control it, it will be able to increase his strength. My suggestion is that we try to control the child to stay in this kingdom so that The Masked man cannot control the child," said Beatrix.

Now it's Larde Von Lowe's turn to comment. He looks to disagree.

"That's impossible if we control someone, Aren't we the same as those criminals?!" replied Larde in a high-pitched voice.

"I agree with Commander Larde's words," Eve added.

Larde Von Lowe, Eve and Beatrix started arguing. The tension in the room started to heat up.

Allaerie Shone leaned back on the chair he was sitting on.

"Calm down all of you," Shone's calm words made the other three people in the room suddenly calm down.

"Forgive us, Your Majesty for our impudence," said the three of them at the same time.

Allaerie Shone greeted those words with a wave of his hand.

"How about this? We send the kid to go on some additional quests. Not with someone as flashy as Agneshia, but someone who can supervise well. It might take one or two supervisors by his side. The two supervisors are in charge of assessing the side. which one this child chooses and also the supervisors have a role to hold if the child goes out of control again," explained Allaerie Shone.

The King's words were truly decisive for the matter that had just occurred.

"Then how do we determine who will watch over the child, Your Majesty?" asked Larde Von Lowe.

"Don't we have special troops who are always moving in the darkness? Isn't that right, Larde?"

The king's words made the three pairs of eyes in front of his sparkle.

"Very true, Your Majesty," replied Larde Von Lowe.

"Then immediately call The Dunkelheit. I leave the choice of the team to you, Larde. Choose those who are suitable for this task"
