Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 A Slavery?

[Randolph's Exhales]

Randolph limped out of the prison room where he was being held. He took a cloth used by Warden Yo and Valcon Huybert as their playing mat. Almost his entire body reacted normally after drinking that potion, it was just that he still felt dizzy just a moment ago. He was still walking unsteadily.

Randolph simply retracted at the words of the person who saved him to get him out of this place. He walked aimlessly, he just followed where his footsteps would take him.

"Damn…this place is huge. However, this is very strange. In a prison of this size, there are no guards. Where they have disappeared?" he's said in surprise.

Randolph didn't walk towards the exit of the prison, instead entered the deepest floor in that prison. He just wanted to go in a direction where the light shone brighter than the damp and dark prison passages.

Randolph arrived at a place that was bright because of the light from the Mana Crystal. A mana crystal was a crystal that could strengthen Demihumans physically and mentally. They will not be tired. For humans, Mana Crystals are used to make Enchantment Stones. There he saw a sight that made him shudder, "What the hell? Why are almost all the Demihumans here?!"

The Deepest floor in this Underground Prison didn't look like a prison anymore. However, it was almost like a city made of hardened earth. The view here is real. The city looks like a different world. Residents who are here look pathetic. Each demi-human could be seen as a chain draped around the neck, on each hand, and on each leg, it wasn't an ordinary bracelet but Sealing Handcuff Artifact. They can't use their power.

Randolph subconsciously approached several of them. Shaking their bodies. However, due to their skill of cast by Shadow, and possibly their low rank, these demi-humans didn't show any reaction at all.

All Demi-humans who were in this location looked like they were digging a hole to be used as a tunnel or the excavated soil was used to build a new building.

The demi-humans with female sexes seemed to be helping the male demi-humans as they were. However, the clothes they wore were messier. They look more like lustful graters than someone to help with this hard work.

"What place is this? Why is there slavery in this kingdom?! I thought there was no more slavery in this world. Damn…this is really sad," Randolph felt his irritation. The killing aura that he had all this time flowed unconsciously. He felt very angry.

"Whose aura is this?! This killing aura is very thick…," said Agneshia in one of the hallways of the Underground Prison. Knowing that there was a murderous aura that was quite foreign to her, Agneshia quickened her pace. With the skill "Dash" she moves as fast as light.

Before long, right behind Randolph. Suddenly he saw someone approaching him. It was Agneshia. The last few minutes after she arrived in that place, she gave the same expression as Randolph gave before. She was so dumbfounded when she saw the other side right under the kingdom she had always longed for.

'No…no way…this is impossible…," Agneshia was flabbergasted and partially covered her mouth with the palm of her left hand. She really didn't understand why there was this kind of scene in front of him now.

Hearing a voice behind him, Randolph turned his body with a murderous aura that kept oozing out, "You…you are one of the elite soldiers in this kingdom, right? Why is your kingdom enslaving demi-humans like this?!"

Agneshia gasped at the sight of Randolph who was in front of her. She stammered in response to Randolph's question, "I really don't know what's going on here. I didn't think that they would still enslave other races like now. If I find out too, I will definitely be against it too."

Randolph's anger peaked. The dizzy feeling that pierced his head was covered with a wave of mounting anger.

"Then, if you had known this kind of thing was happening in front of your eyes. What are you going to do? Are you going to keep quiet because this wasn't what you did?"

"I will definitely find out who tainted this kingdom with this disgusting slavery!," Agneshia looked determined to clear her name which seemed to be dragged along because of this problem.

Agneshia also felt a little disappointed. She insisted on finding Randolph, but after meeting Randolph, that boy scolded her instead. However, she didn't blame Randolph. If one sees a slavery-like this, he/she too will surely be angry and will not remain silent.

"Drap…drap…drap…"

Randolph and Agneshia heard several footsteps approaching both of them. Both of them readied their battle stances. At the same time, Charles Von Veyta and one of his other right-hand men, Leon Svereinz, discovered that terrible place.

Both of them gave the same response. They both couldn't believe the sight in front of them.

Agneshia suggested that Charles Von Veyta have an audience with his superiors and also the King regarding this matter, "Even though the current state of the kingdom is in disarray due to The Masked man's attack, this cannot be delayed either," Agneshia emphasized.

Charles agreed with this, "I will report everything to the commander-in-chief Larde Von Lowe and also His Majesty Allaerie Shone regarding the possible crimes committed by one of my subordinates, Valcon Huybert, and immediately want to investigate the management of this prison. Leon, you take care of Valcon and make sure you don't disappoint me too"

Leon agreed to his superior's orders. Then he left three of them behind.

"I want to join in on the investigation into this crime as well. Can you take care of that sir…?," Randolph begged Charles.

"I guess it would be hard if you didn't have access or a prove as a special soldier in this kingdom. But, if you had the status of a mercenary, that would be more likely. However, becoming a mercenary in such a short time is impossible, especially since the state of the Alamove kingdom is currently unstable," added Charles.

Agneshia cleared her throat.

"Leave that to me. Since I am responsible for this boy, I will help him. Come on, we will look for clothes that are tidier than the ones you're wearing now. We will seek access to your new status. Charles, I leave the other matters in your hand. In the meantime, I will be near this boy until things are completely safe. Pass this message on to Azuzawa's and Sarah's," Agneshia cut in. The girl's face was slightly red when she said all that words, then he grabbed Randolph's wrist and both of them walked out of the horrible place.

*****

In a room with a candle that is large enough to be the size of a common adult, with a gray and even black interior, several people are seen in the room. There is someone sitting cross-legged on an object that looks like a black block, another figure is sleeping lazing on a hammock of the same color as the room. The other figure is not very visible because it is quite dark in the room. Shadow and Doc are seen standing near the huge candles.

"I told you from the start, that this child is very worrying. He is very perfectionist with his personality, but that.s doesn't work in this world. You just look all over Theheron. Is there a fighter who relies solely on his fists and kicks? This world was not earth where he could look like a champion. Now you can see for yourself if this kid disappoints you, he's not that strong. He was easily defeated by the artifacts made by the chosen humans and the slight drops of power from the white-winged creatures. Are you still defending him that kid, Shadow?"

Doc looks very annoyed. He spilled all his swearing at the figure in front of him.

But Shadow's response was very calm, "You are a person of considerable medical knowledge. You must know a proverb that a person must learn to crawl before he can walk. Nothing is easy in this world, especially if that person doesn't have a mentor…"

"Like you used to… it isn't like that Shadow… You don't want this kid to feel a failure like you did before, on the other hand, you want to make this kid feel the things that make this kid afraid of this world so that you can lead him according to your wishes," Sins added. Who suddenly appeared from the darkness.

Shadow and Doc move their heads towards the owner of the voice at the same time.

"You have to calm yourself down, Doc. We have to go through the process. The child is not perfect as all of us yet. I agree with Shadow's opinion. We have to wait for the fruit to ripen to taste the sweetness," answered the man sitting on the block.

Doc fell silent hearing someone who was usually silent suddenly said his opinion. He contemplated his sentence. At the same time, someone who was lazing on the hammock smiled and said, "I can't wait to taste the sweetness of the fruit too."
