She nodded and finally dialed the number. The bell rang for a few seconds before being picked up. She didn't give the other side a chance to speak, "Note down the address and come pick me up before anyone else gets me."
Although no one was hunting her actively, but if those who caused Gu Yuxi's death found out about her, they might try to kill her to keep her quiet. It was necessary to go to a safe place as soon as possible, and what could be a safer place than Gu Yuxi's home.
She had called the Head Maid at home just now, and she was sure that the security guards at her mansion will come to pick her up soon, led by her maid.
She gave the phone back to the man behind the counter, "What's the address?"
The man raised an eyebrow at her confident attitude and told the address of his coffee shop on the phone.
The other side was probably in a hurry, after hearing the address they hung up.
"They hung up, are you sure someone will come to pick you up?" He asked with amusement.
She nodded and said in a relaxed tone, "If they don't want their heads to be separated from their shoulders, they should come."
A chill ran up the man's spine, and he didn't dare to continue the topic anymore.
"A cup of black coffee please." she smiled and put another E rank mana core on the counter.
"Coming right up." The man nodded.
After taking a seat in a corner, she observed the interior of the coffee shop. It couldn't be called luxurious, but it was very clean. There were some customers sitting at other tables, chatting with each other.
She relaxed and leaned back on the seat to take a short break after a hectic and tiring week. She hadn't been able to relax properly inside the dungeon, now that she was in a relatively safe place, her tense muscles relaxed.
Her coffee was delivered soon, she held the warm mug in both hands and took a sip. Fortunately, it wasn't too hot; otherwise she might have burned her tongue.
While she drank her coffee slowly, she waited for someone to pick her up. Just when she finished drinking her coffee, the sound of harsh breaks of the car sounded outside.
"Ah, they came so fast." She muttered and put down the empty mug.
The glass door opened and two men in black suite entered the coffee shop first. They stood on both sides of the narrow door and waited for the third individual to enter.
Yuxi watched with wide eyes, as the gorgeous woman in luxurious clothes entered this simple coffee shop and locked her gaze onto her.
"Auntie." She sprang up from her seat and rushed towards the woman, but she stopped right before she was about to throw herself in the woman's outstretched arms.
She lowered her head and sniffed herself.
"I stink." She said with tears in her eyes.
The woman laughed lowly and gently pulled her in her embrace without any repulsion of the bloody smell on her body. "Sweetheart, you are alive, and that's the only thing that matters."
Yuxi was injured in her back by a wind slash before. Although, the wound was healed, and she changed her clothes, there was still blood sticking to her skin.
"I miss you so much." She cried in the woman's embrace and hiccuped.
Remembering the memories of Gu Yuxi before her death was an easy way to bring out these emotions and she did just that.
"I know, don't cry, let's go home and clean up first before you tell me everything that happened to you in detail, okay?" The woman coaxed her gently while wiping away her tears.
"Okay" She left her aunt's embrace and nodded like an obedient child before following her out of the coffee shop.
'Tsk, tsk, what an obedient child you are.' The system said jokingly, but she ignored him and focused on the matter at hand, she couldn't afford to be distracted right now.
She didn't expect that the one to pick her up would be Gu Yuxi's auntie. Except for giving birth to her, she could be called her mother in all aspects. The woman had raised the girl like a princess since she was a baby. She knew what the girl's personality was like and if she showed any flaws right now she didn't want to imagine what would happen.
Meanwhile, the man behind the counter stood stupefied with his mouth wide open.
He recognized the woman who just visited the coffee shop. How could he not? She was a famous figure in the country, after all. A legendary Ranker who served on the front lines for decades and took back multiple small regions from the monsters before her retirement.
One of the pillars of the Gu family today, Gu Zhanci.
The man shuddered and thought back to his conversation with the girl who just called Gu Zhanci her aunt. He was thankful that he didn't treat her rudely.
"No wonder, she was so confident that someone will pick her up. It turns out she belongs to one of the Great families." He muttered to himself while picking up the mug on Yuxi's table.
"Huh?" He looked inside the mug and found two more E ranked mana cores inside.
He grinned from ear to ear and took out the mana cores from inside the mug. "At least I made a small profit today."
…
Gu Zhanci was Gu Yuxi's paternal aunt. The woman had practically raised Gu Yuxi after the death of her mother during a Dungeon Break.
She stayed in the capital all year round as a Guardian, but she might have come here after knowing that Yuxi went missing. Her
presence here proved how much she loved her niece, to be willing to endure the pressure from the government because of her departure from the capital.
They had a close bond with each other, and her aunt knew Gu Yuxi like the back of her hand. That is why Aaira adopted the persona of Gu Yuxi in front of her, with the best of her ability, so as not be doubted.
Both were young ladies who grew up among riches and protected, but Gu Yuxi was spoiled by her aunt to the extreme, resulting in having a wholly different personality from Aaira.
One was calm and rational, the other was simple and naive.
Because of her naivety, she befriended and trusted the wrong people and paid the price with her life.
That's how Aaira was able to take over the body without giving anything in return to the original owner.
This was a magical world where anything was possible. What if she showed any flaws and be doubted as a monster who could possess other's people's bodies?
If that happens, knowing her aunt, she had no doubt that she will be locked up by her, and she will try all means to pull her out of the body in hopes of getting her niece back.
She followed her aunt out of the coffee shop and sat in the back seat of a low-key but luxurious car with her. The two men in black suits sat in the front, one took the driver's seat and the other sat in the passenger seat.
The car started slowly and traveled from the outer circle of the city to an inner residential area.
She looked out of the car window in silence, and remembered the route they took. This was the first time she was seeing the human civilization in this world, and she observed the receding scenery intently.
The car stopped in front of a mansion. She remembered this mansion from her memories, which was Yuxi's residence in this city.
She familiarly entered the mansion with her aunt. "Auntie, I am going to take a bath. Can you ask the chef to prepare a meal, I am hungry."
"Don't worry, there is no rush, take your time." Gu Zhanci nodded to her niece and then gestured with her head to one of the men following them to go and give the instructions to the chef.
She followed Gu Yuxi to the living room and took a seat on the sofa while she watched her niece going to her room to take a bath.
Yuxi entered her room on the second floor and went straight to the bathroom without taking a change of clothes with her.
Mixing the water in the bath tub to an appropriate temperature, she stepped in after taking off her clothes. The water felt warm on her skin, she leaned against the bathtub and sank herself in, up to her chin.
After closing her eyes she lost the count of time and when she opened her eyes again she saw an entirely different scene.
She was lying in a pod and submerged in green liquid, but she didn't feel suffocated, instead, she felt very comfortable.
"In the end, what happened?"
