1. THE MEET CUTES
This is when the characters fall in love after doing shots like;
a) Bumping into each other and spilling papers, then head knocking as they try to stand up
b) One accidentally pours coffee into another one and tries to frantically clean it up.
c) Also the Male stalks the woman and it's kinda sexy, but if woman does its creepy and weird.
2. THE MAVERICK COP
This is the cop who lives by no rule:
a) He doesn't listen to his sarge
b) He vows to get the villain no matter what
c) He is told to hand in badge and gun
d) He nonetheless kills the villain in the end.
e) Also smoke a cigar and/or drinks coffee.
3. DEAD MAN WALKING
This is the secondary character who everybody knows will die a sad death. They often plan to resign and has to do one last job but gets killed.
They also often start talking about their family and how they would go to care for their family. Some flash out their loved ones photo, of they do that, they dead.
4. FUNERAL FROM A DISTANCE
After a character dies, it is raining or cloudy and you'll see it is their funeral. The family members are crying. Then the camera slowly zooms out to reveal a solitary figure looking on from a distance. This also gives the director a chance to show a nice wide shot of the funeral.
Fast and Furious did it on other level; as Paul Walker watched a funeral from a distance, Vin Diesel watched Paul Walker watch a funeral from a distance, from a distance.
5. TALKING TO TOMBSTONES
After the funeral, one character stays behind and starts pouring their heart out to a tombstone. It helps in explaining where we are in the plot.
6. THE ONLY VIEW IN PARIS
How do we know if the character is in Paris, there is always a view of the Eiffel Tower from:
a) The bedroom window
b) Train window
c) Balcony
7. THE GROCERY BAG
The characters always carry around a brown bag with a baguette or two sticking out and a visible leaf of kale.
8. THE ARROGANT APPLE
Crunching apple bite as the boss speaks is a way of saying, 'I'm too cool for school' while lowering cholesterol level and promoting gut health.
9. THE ONE MAN ARMY
Action figures who kill everyone without even getting a scratch.
Popular with '80s action movies like Rambo and Commando
10. WAIT FOR YOUR TURN
When the main character is taking out a dozen of people, it seems they all wait for their turns to get beaten as they take on the guy one by one.
However this practice was changed by Jackie Chan as many other Hollywood movies like The Matrix followed suit.
