Chapter 29 - Neutral Ways

The Castle with tall towers seemed to kissing the sky, made out of pure gold with a tint of crystals and sparks shining with the touch of the sun, the castle shimmered under the sunlight.

The tower gate guarded by the troops of patrolling officers around the castle, preventing any invasions. The beautiful sunrise hit every corner, beautifying the castle that could even make a blind man admire the efflorescing blossom with awe.

The place looked like a beautiful blooming flower that everyone admires, the place screamed riches, power, and blissfulness to the world. But the hidden thorns, pierced hearts, crushed hopes are deep stemmed in the dark.

Past the outer dazzling beauty, past the heavily guarded gates. Inside the Royal castle there comes the King's throne, The Royall Hall, The Play Chambers, The Historical Treasury, there lies the piece of beautiful Art, the Castle of Throne Prince.

Prince Kieran Lafayette.

The Powerful Throne Prince, the next one to ascend the Royal throne, was only twenty eight at the time he was married to Princess Melanie Irakladius, the sole heiress of the Southern Empire. Marrying her Price Kieran not just became the Emperor of the human ruled World, but also got the most beautiful girl as his wife.

He was the most powerful Prince ruling the Northern Part of mother earth, with his alliance with Melanie he striked the right chords to eliminate all the barriers that could stop him from being the Powerful Emperor, he erased the competition on his path to get Melanie's hand and King Richard Irakladius had no objections to marry his one and only daughter to the most powerful man.

After all, his daughter is going to the Queen, ruling the human portion of the great earth. The Castles were lit with lamps and fluorescent candles, each and every inch of the place is ready for the first night of Prince Kieran Lafayette and now his wife, Princess Melanie Lafayette.

The beautified palace was in giggles and teases until the time Prince Kieran returned from the forest after getting done with his hunting, but not as a human but as a corpse.

The Kingdom was taken aback, by the sudden shock. The dead body of Prince Kieran was lying inside the Royal chambers, the news of his passing away is still a secret to the world outside the castle, to his people who are eager for the first night of their Prince and his wife who would give them their next heir.

King Nicolov Lafayette, father of Prince Kieran sat on the Chair, looking at his son's lifeless body. He never imagined this day would come where he would be gone before his son.

Sobs of his Queen and other women were ringing in his ears, but his heart ached for his daughter-in-law, the young bride of his son who is waiting for her first night, the night where she would get to look at her husband for the first time.

According to the Royal Customs, it is barred for the women to see the man they are marrying before their marriage. Only during their first night do they get to see the person to whom they are married.

"Ardie" murmured King Nicolov.

"Your Highness" Ardie showed up.

"Ask the women to bring the Royal Princess" King Nicolov meekly put, he couldn't even imagine how Melanie would take it. She is going to look at the man she married for the first ever time and as a corpse.

"Ayda.." King Nicolov called for his wife.

Queen Ayda sobbed profusely sitting beside her son's dead body. She couldn't come to terms with losing her only son, this early.

"Ayda.." Nicolov lightly shook her shoulder making her look up at him.

"Assist Princess Melanie" he softly said.

Queen Ayda looked up at her husband with tears streaming down her eyes. She dreamt of her son sharing life with the beautiful Princess and ruling the Territory, even in her wildest dreams she couldn't imagine her son leaving this world abruptly.

Abiding by King's order, she got up with the help of her maids, who helped her walk to the Princess Chamber.

Leaning onto the windowpane, she pushed the strands of her hair back as the autumn breeze blew across her face. Her hands fidgeted with one another, she could hear utter silence, the Royal Chambers lit with lamps and decorated gloriously with flowers for her first night has now fallen into unbearable silence.

Never had she been any attached to the Prince, her husband who is gone now. Her marriage took place abruptly as a conquest. Her father gave away her hand to the one whom he thought could rule the world. She couldn't feel anything hearing the death news of her husband to whom she is married just a few days ago.

"Princess.." hearing a maid taking her name, she looked back.

"Her Highness Queen Ayda is here for you" the maid chirped the information.

Blinking in affirmation, Melanie put her veil back on her head, before she walked to her mother-in-law.

Melanie kept her head low, not due to respect or hurt, she had no idea how to face her mother-in-law, she don't know what to be done in situations as such.

"Dear…" Ayda broke into tears as she saw Melanie all dressed up for her wedding night.

Ayda made sure, Melanie wear the customized royal gown, with floral print. She ensured that the maids got Melanie bathed in the exotic oils that make sure her son has the best ever first night experience… but all just a broken dream now.

Melanie just followed her mother-in-law to her husband's chambers where his corpse was lying.

Everyone stood up as they saw Princess walk inside, some looked at her with pity, whereas some spewed venom reasoning her arrival as a bad omen.

However, Melanie's eyes just focused on her husband's corpse. She observed him from head to toe, she could hear her mother-in-law sob loudly, but her eyes caught something that refused to leave her mind.

"Can you please tilt him to the right?" Melanie asked the guards present there.

Hearing the unexpected reaction, everyone was stunned.

"Dear.. please have a hold on yourself" her father-in-law chirped.

"Your Majesty, please tilt his body, I need to check something" Melanie stressed.

Going by his emotional state, the King ordered the guards who followed his word and tilted Prince Kieran's body to his right.

Melanie focused on the back of his neck, below his curly hair, she passed her fingers over her neck and examined it closely.

"Prince Kieran's death is not natural, he is attacked" announced Melanie
