As King Nicolov called for the servants, as Melanie hit the floor. The noblewomen sprang in.
"Look after her" King Nicolov roared at the Physicians.
"Your Majesty" Elena, personal noblewomen of Princess Melanie who was with Melanie's assistant and was with her since her childhood spoke.
King Nicolov looked up at her.
"Your Majesty, nothing to worry. Princess is in deep pain, she couldn't fathom the loss of her husband, she is going through unbearable trauma and it could be the reason, no need to worry" Elena said within one breath.
"Why don't we get her treated, we already lost our son" King Nicolov added.
"It's okay Your Majesty, we shall look after her" Elena quickly put.
"Girls, be quick. Help me shift Princess to her room" Elena was quick to order, before the King could say anything Elena alerted her women who followed Princess Melanie from her Kingdom to that of her husband's and they quickly made their way out towards her assigned Chambers.
Elena let out a sigh as soon as they walked out of the room where Prince Kieran's corpse was placed.
She managed to walk fast alerted the servants of her Princess, walking past through the questioning eyes of guards and Queens women, they managed to shift the Chambers.
"Queen Ayda, why don't you check with our daughter-in-law?" King Nicolov added, more like that of an order.
He was unsure what could have made her unconscious, he might have believed Princess Melanie to be in trauma had she shed a few tears looking at her husband's corpse, but all she did was deducing the reasons for her husband's death.
"Will do" Queen Ayda quickly abided to her husband's order.
While inside the Chambers of Princess Melanie, Elena alerted the other servants to carefully place her on the bed, the bed beautifully decorated with fluorescent flowers, rose petals and daffoldils for the wedding night of Prince and Princess.
Now one was a corpse while the widowed Princess was unconscious.
"Close the doors, quick" roared Elena.
In the absence of Princess Melanie, Elena was the one who dealt all the matters. She commanded power, and alerted the servants.
"You both, guard the place and let no one inside" Elena ordered two of the servants.
"Yes Elena" they quickly added.
"Remember that no one should be allowed inside… no one" ordered Elena.
Nodding their head, the girls walked out to guard the Chambers.
"Rub her legs and arms" Elena ordered the servants.
"What happened to Princess, Elena?" they quizzed.
"Do as I say, keep rubbing her palms and legs" ordered Elena stepping out of the beautifully decorated bed.
Elena grabbed a jar of water in her hand and rushed to Princess Melanie, she sprinkled droplets of water over Princess Melanie's face.
Melanie furrowed her brows feeling something wet over her face and she could sense slight pats over her cheek. With great difficulty Melanie managed to open her eyes after lots of struggle.
She felt her world blur as she opened her eyes.
"Princess…. Princess.. are you okay??"
"Are you okay?"
She could only hear faint voices near her ear.
Taking the wet cloth into hand, Elena rubbed Melanie's face with it.
Melanie could clearly see the worried face of Elena.
"Princess, are you okay?" Elena shook her.
Placing her hands beside her hips, Princess Melanie tried to sit.
"What happened to me?" Melanie asked for an answer.
"You were engrossed to find the reasons for the sudden death of Prince and suddenly you slipped unconscious" one of her servants muttered.
Melanie gulped hearing her woman speak.
"I want absolute privacy, Elena" Melanie ordered.
Within seconds her maids and noblewomen exit the Chambers and Elena closed the room door.
Melanie squeezed her eyes shut, she could feel her world spinning.
"Meli, what happened?" Elena rushed to Princess once the door was closed.
The camaraderie they share is more than that of a Princess and maid, being almost in the same age they were like best friends. Melanie treated Elena just like her elder sister and Elena almost enjoyed everything Melanie was a part of.
"I.. I do.." Melanie stuttered.
"Meli, what is the matter? What do you think it is? Why are you sweating? What happened?" Elena shook her.
"I think it could be something we don't want to come true" Melanie looked up into Elena's eyes with fear.
"Whaaatttt?" shrieked Elena.
"Keep your voice low Elena" roared Melanie trying to calm down Elena.
"Don't tell me you are… when was the last time you had the menstrual cycle?" Elena demanded an answer.
"I quite don't remember"
"Have you gone insane Melanie? How could you be so irresponsible?" screamed Melanie.
"Shhh… stop freaking out Elena, from the time I have been on the pills the Witch prescribed to have my Hymen look like it had never been a part of any sexual intercourse so that Prince could feel I am pure as I bleed when we consummate, my cycle was irregular" answered Melanie.
"And you are telling that to me now? How could you trust in the medicinal procedures of a Witch, Meli?"
"Do we have any other option? None of our physicians could find any solution. Though I went through every book related to medicine I couldn't find one solution, so I had to take the last available option" Melanie threw her head back.
"Why don't you check your pulse once?" Elena put, she knew how well versed in Princess with the medical knowledge and how could she just diagnose checking the pulse.
Melanie just looked up at Elena, the symptoms suggested that she could be pregnant and it will be dreadful.
The Princess of Human territory, Melanie Lafayette being pregenant on the day of her fight night when her husband was lying dead before they could consummate.
Would there be anything more shameful than that? What if the news comes out? How is she going to tackle this??
"Melanie, what are you thinking? Check your pulse, now only you could do anything as we can't ask the physicians for any sort of help" Elena looked beyond scared.
"I need some wheat and barley seeds Elena" Melanie requested.
