Adrian's POV
'Hey, sleepyhead, lift your big ass, and let's smell some forest air. Did you chew that awful mix again? I need to get rid of this bad taste in my mouth as soon as possible.' Demus woke me up.
'How selfish of you, Demus. At the very least, be respectful. How long have you been gone? I had to deal with trivial tasks like finding food to heal faster and finding a safe place to sleep to avoid a possible Rogue attack while you were away. I used herbs to conceal our odor. Be grateful and say thanks.' I was enraged.
'Why should I be grateful? Wasn't it the Moon Goddess who bestowed this mind on you? Don't act as if you thought of it yourself!' Demus snorted.
'Do you really see my dreams as well? Do you see my dreams as well? You're quite unique. I will not argue with you.' I said.
I looked around and realized that I was still over the branches of the tree. Thank God!
'You talk a lot. Of course, I know what's going on. Just because I'm under the influence of silver doesn't mean I don't know what's going on around us. I just couldn't answer. I was adversely affected by silver. But resting and eating, even if it's a little bit, definitely worked for me.'
'Actually, I didn't talk much. Don't exaggerate if you want. Come on, be serious, please. Please respond. I need answers. What should I do now? Can I stay in this forest? Or should I try to find myself a Pack that will accept me? Perhaps it would be more appropriate for me to live as a Rogue. What are you saying?'
'It's impossible for me to answer you as I can't think about it right now. I have a bad taste in my mouth, I'm hungry, and I want to hunt. Only then will I be able to respond to your inquiries. Let's pick up that big ass of yours and climb down and let us hunt, we'll talk about what to do next.' Said Demus.
'You talk about hunting, but you know I've never shifted before. We agreed that when I wanted to shift, I wouldn't until I learned to control my aura. Now explain, how will I do it?' I said.
'Alright. Keep calm and concentrate solely on me. It will hurt at first, but if you think of me, the pain will subside, and you will shift.' Demus stated.
I trust him and did what he said. I concentrated on Demus. I collapsed to the ground in agony as my all bones began to break, crack, and change shape.
"Calm down, Adrian, think about me," Demus advised.
'I'm only thinking about you, but this pain is killing me.' I clenched my teeth and grunted in pain. When I noticed coal-black hairs forming on my hands, I realized I was standing on my paws. I was Demus or he was me.
'Okay, now relax and remember that I'm in control; enjoy the moment,' Demus said. He began to run with all his strength towards the depths of the forest before I could comprehend what was going on.
I savoured the wind blowing my fur without thinking, worrying, knowing that I would not suffer. I was in the dungeon for so long that I forgot what it felt like to be outside. With this feeling of freedom, I kept running towards the depths of the forest, not caring about anything.
I'm not sure how long I ran. I rested by a stream when I became tired. I was thinking about Demus. What kind of wolf had I? It turned out to be quite big for someone my age. I could tell it was older than me. My fur was completely black. My right brow's fur was white and shaped like a moon. I was in good shape. I bowed my head and began drinking from the stream. Knowing that I had a large wolf gave me confidence.
'Didn't I tell you we'd get through anything when we were together? We just need to trust each other,' Demus said.
'I see you don't miss any opportunity to praise yourself, Demus.' I said laughing. It was so nice of you to talk to me in my mind. It was a piece of me. A gift.
'Yes, I'm a part of you, but I'm the one who will stop you when you do something stupid, don't forget!' snorted Demus.
We were so immersed in talking to ourselves that we didn't notice the enemy that came near us.
