Limited living space is one factor, food constraints are an even bigger headache.
But the advantages brought by a larger population are concrete; more people not only mean faster Oasis growth but also a larger pool from which to select and train enough talented newcomers, leading to more non-human powerhouses.
With more powerhouses, exploring the Ghastly Realm and uncovering relics becomes more convenient.
