The ground was gray, with several dilapidated buildings standing tall, vegetation growing in front of the buildings, most of which had already withered. Farther on was a dense fog, like towering city walls, slowly drifting.
Matissa opened her eyes groggily, her sight a little shaky. She squinted instinctively and raised her hand to shield her forehead.
The next second, her eyes widened.
"There's light!"
"It's sunlight!"
Switching from the dim and gloomy fog-filled environment to sunlight all at once, Matissa was somewhat unaccustomed, yet she still lifted her head. There was no sun in the sky here, but there were beams of warm light falling from high above.
It landed on her cheeks, warm and comforting, as if the life energy inside her body was recovering faster.
She was stunned for a moment.
