Chapter 3 - Wilson Lucky Boy

The days passed happily because the Davis Family had gotten what they wanted all along, namely Audrey's pregnancy which meant they would have a biological child. At this point Chris was simply forgotten. Even when Audrey had given birth, just as Chris turned three. Happiness to Mr Calvin and Mrs Audrey on the birth of a baby boy named Wilson Davis. Officially the younger brother of Christopher Davis. But being the most special child because he is a biological child. Chris' life begins to change and all that comes first is Wilson's. Unfortunately, Wilson was born with not so good health conditions. Wilson was often sickly and had to get regular treatment and checkups and take medication every day. For the Davis family, this is not a big problem because Mr. Calvin and Mrs. Audrey are still grateful for Wilson's presence.

Chris's growth was not monitored by his adoptive parents at all but was left entirely to Diana, who turned out to be Chris' biological mother. When he entered elementary school, Mr. Calvin said the right thing to Chris.

"From now on your life is to look after and take care of Wilson. You must not be careless and must always love Wilson with all your heart. Papa and Mama will not let anything bad happen to Wilson so you must also take care of your brother with all your heart?" Chris obviously nodded his head and said he understood the order. It's been a long time Mr. Calvin hasn't spoken to Chris. So the innocent little Chris could only answer happily.

"Yes, Papa. From now on Chris is in school and has promised to look after Wilson as best he can. Chris is the first child, so Chris will do his best to protect Wilson."

"Good then. Great boy!" The acknowledgment from Mr. Calvin made Chris feel very happy and promised to always take care of Wilson, who is three years younger than Chris.

One thing that was instilled since Chris was little is that all things related to Wilson are Chris's responsibility as well. As matters of health and Wilson's life from today onwards, they become a part of Chris' life that will not be separated. Burden? Chris never felt Wilson was a burden because of Chris's kind and loving heart. Growing happy was enough even though Chris had to protect Wilson for the rest of his life.

Time passed quickly and Chris and Wilson grew up to much different levels of health. Chris hardly ever gets sick but looks closed and reserved whereas Wilson is unwell and sickly but looks cheerful and happy. Of course, that's because the love given by their parents is different between biological children and adopted children. Chris is required to always pay attention to Wilson while their parents do not have the time and attention for Chris. Gradually Chris felt used to it and was actually close to the caregiver who had accompanied his life, namely Diana. Currently, Chris has entered high school while Wilson is in junior school. The two of them are in the same school, only in different buildings and are still in the same scope so that Chris can pay attention to Wilson at school. Of course, no child would dare to disturb them because they knew they were the children of a successful, wealthy businessman couple. It's just that since a long time ago, there were many things that stuck and also made Chris feel bad because people only knew Chris' identity as an adopted child.

"This is the one who becomes the main focus in every conversation our schoolchildren talk about. Christopher is a lucky child because he was appointed to be part of the rich Davis Family. this is a school in the opposite building. They can't be separated because their parents have given Chris the job of being a permanent bodyguard." The students in the class immediately laughed out loud at the words of an annoying student. Chris tried to contain himself and remained silent listening to such scorn. It was true that Chris' life was to look after Wilson and the man never objected to being so fond of his less fortunate brother who often got sick. That's what Chris thought while others thought Wilson was the luckiest boy in the world.

"See that he can't answer anything. Don't mock him anymore because he might report this to his two rich parents. Oh yeah, not real parents but adoptive parents!" The students laughed at Christopher. But once again the man did not budge and felt such a thing was pointless to respond to. Although inside Christopher there was something churning that wanted to fight them. Indeed, adolescent growth hormone is always full of conflict and fiery. Christopher can control himself well and does not cause problems so that his parents always love him.

Unlike Christopher's life at school, Wilson got a lot of attention and a good school life because of his poor health condition and needed attention by many people. Wilson always smiled and looked happy around people even though the man was sick and knew that the disease would not be cured even though he had been treated in many places. Mr. Calvin and Mrs. Audrey have tried their best and carried out various examinations and treatment for Wilson's recovery but doctors in any country say that Wilson's condition can only be maintained but cannot be fully cured. Wilson did not complain about the illness and lived a happy life especially having an older brother who loved him very much. Wilson also loved Christopher and was happy to share everything with the man. Sometimes Wilson also whines to his parents when Christopher is about to be left on vacation. Both of their parents followed what Wilson said and wherever they went Christopher was always invited to go with them.

"I really want to go home because I want to play with my older brother." Wilson with a beaming finish all the tasks in the school quickly. Wilson is indeed a smart man and gets a lot of attention from people around him.

"Christopher must be a nice and warm man. You look so happy when the clock shows you're coming home from school." Wilson's friends often observed that the boy was eager to get home from school.

"Yes, Christopher is very kind and I love him." Wilson smiled happily. A very different face from Christopher who was quiet and looked cold. Christopher would only smile when he was in front of Wilson and their parents.
