[Kaede POV]
Freedom!
Finally, I'm released from house arrest. On the first day of the house arrest, Aizawa-sensei brought me to Principal Nezu's office. All Might was also there, and I thought it would be something serious, so I was pretty nervous.
But it turns out they secretly wanted to congratulate me for my achievement in defeating the nomu. They believed that if I didn't act of my own accord, there might be casualties during the battle. However, I'm still punished for disobeying the rules. It seems fair and they warned me that the next time I did something like this I won't be let off so easily the next time.
Also, it turns out that after that battle, my hero's name started to get noticed by the public.
So mission failed successfully???
There's also one thing that has been on my mind that I've been anxious about. After the battle of the JP Hero Ranking, that's when Season four of MHA concluded. Usually, I wouldn't be too concerned, but I haven't watched season five yet, and my anxiety grew by the day. That's why I will put in double the effort!
During my house arrest, I didn't waste my spare time horsing around as I spent seven days training. Specifically, training in my Susanoo. The process was slow as I can only use complete form Susanoo once a day, or else I will over-exert my body, but I'm making progress! However, no matter how hard I trained, there was still a part of my heart that constantly questioned whether it would be enough...
But thoughts were just thoughts! I will not allow it to ruin me! I sure hope what I said won't come and bite me later. Heh Heh. Anyway, where was I again? The house arrest had ended, and I returned to the classroom. Sure enough, I miss this place.
"It's good to be back!" I exclaimed and leaned on my chair.
The rest of my classmates chuckled, but that was interrupted when Aizawa-sensei entered the room. He informed us about changing into our hero costume and meeting him at Ground Gamma.
We were recently told that we should consider redesigning our costumes to make them suitable for winter. There were significant changes like Bakugo, who wore a long, high-collared black jacket, and some small ones, such as Yaoyorozu, who just added a red cloak.
I kept my hero costume mostly the same except now my stomach region was covered and added a bright red scarf that wrapped comfortably around my neck. I didn't have to change my costume much since I could cover my body with chakra and protect myself from the cold.
We talked to each other about our winter costumes, and Ojirio commented about Midoriya's newly upgraded gloves made by Hatasume. Hearing Hatasume's name, Ochako looked as if she had just eaten something bitter. As her childhood friend, Mina and I teased her about it.
Suddenly we heard voices, and students from Class-1B arrived. Our class will be doing a joint training, and Monoma arrogantly proclaimed that their class would be the winner, but one stare with my Sharingan shut him up easily.
Vlad King and Aizawa-sensei appeared and explained the rules of this joint training. Class 1-A and Class 1-B will go head-to-head in teams of four to battle it out. To win, we were supposed to bring our opponents to a jail cell, and once all four members of a team were captured, the other team wins.
However, Aizawa-sensei told us that there would be a special guest joining us. My friends and I wondered who it was, and our teachers announced that the person was Hitoshi Shinso, who brainwashed Midoriya at the sports festival.
They explained that Shinso has been considered to be transferred into the hero course and that he will be tested in this joint training. Shinso approached from behind the two homeroom teachers, and I happily greeted him. He now also wore a mask and binding cloth like Aizawa-sensei, which makes me think that Aizawa-sensei must have been privately training him.
All of us greeted Shinso, and he gave a short introduction. When Shinso finished, Aizawa-sensei began to assign us to teams; however, he didn't put me in one...
"Sensei, what about me?" I asked while raising my hand.
"Uchiha, you will be fighting solo," Aizawa-sensei explained.
Everyone was shocked, but my classmates kind of understood why: "Then who will I be fighting?" I asked.
"You will see," he answered ominously
I shrugged as the battle between Class 1-A and Class 1-B officially commenced. Each team was called on to fight one by one, and all I could say was that it was breathtaking. I felt happy to know how much my friends had improved their skills. I was also impressed by Class 1-B's fighting skills and some of my friends have unfortunately lost their battle.
When it was Shoto's turn to fight, I cheered for him. He was teamed up with Shoji, Ojiro, and Iida, while their opponent was Kaibara, Tsunotori, Tetsutetsu, and Honenuki. Shoto's battle was intense ansd he was forced to fight one on one against Tetsutetsu, who could resist Shoto's ice and fire. During the struggle, Shoto manages to surpass his limit, and he unleashes a fire so hot that even I could feel it from the spectator stand.
Unfortunately, Shoto should've won, but Honenuki arrived, and he softened the ground as Shoto tripped and fell.
*BONK*
As Shoto fell, he knocked his head on a random pipe, and I winced at the loud noise it made. Shoto was out cold immediately and he lay motionless on the ground. The match concluded soon after, and I hurriedly followed the unconscious figure of Shoto, who was being carried into the infirmary.
[3rd POV]
Shoto gradually opened his eyes and he had a painful headache. He groaned and sat up from the infirmary bed.
"Shoto-kun, are you okay?!" He heard a familiar voice calling his name.
"What happened," Shoto asked as he dizzily glanced at Kaede.
"During the joint training battle, you bang your head on a piece of pipe," Kaede answered with an amused tone, "You were then taken to the infirmary. Recovery Girl and I healed all your wounds."
Hearing this, Shoto was extremely embarrassed from getting defeated in such a way: "Did we win?" Shoto asked with faint hope that at least their team had won the fight.
" About that, after you went unconscious. Tsunotori-chan stall for the rest of the game, so it ended in a draw...." Kaede responded with a chuckle.
Shoto slumped his shoulder feeling discouraged and disappointed. He sighed and looked at his hand: "We would've won if I hadn't made a rash decision to overuse my ice...."
"Don't feel bad; everyone makes stupid choices." Kaede tried to comfort him.
"Such as sneaking out of the school?" Shoto joked and gave Kaede a mischievous smile.
"Eh?! That's for a good cause! A good cause I tell you!" Kaede desperately tried to defend herself.
Kaede and Shoto stared at each other, and both laughed. Kaede smiled and gently took his hand as she rested her cheek against his palm: "Even if it's embarrassing, in my eyes, you were super cool, Shoto-kun."
Shoto smiled wryly and pulled Kaede into an embrace: "Thanks."
The two remained in that position, enjoying each other's company, but that moment ended when they heard footsteps approaching.
"Ah, Uchiha-chan, Aizawa's looking for you. I think your match is starting." Recovery Girl's voice echoed through the room as the elderly hero entered the infirmary.
Kaede broke off from the hug as she gave Shoto a quick kiss and excitedly ran to the door before turning around: "Please cheer for me too!"
Shoto nodded, and Kaede rushed out of the room. Recovery Girl glanced back at Shoto: "You sure are a lucky guy."
"Yeah....." Shoto muttered in a daze as he could still clearly remember her warmth on the left side of his face.
