[3rd POV]
"I sure wonder what's the meaning of this." Principal Nezu muttered and stared at the two documents on his desk.
"The Todoroki family and the Uchiha family have requested to have their child temporarily removed from Height's Alliance for the weekend," Nezu explained.
"I think I have a basic idea of why," Aizawa said and he pinched the bridge of his nose. Knowing Itachi's personality, he could guess the reason for the sudden withdrawal from the two families, "Are you going to allow it?"
Principal Nezu nodded: "Well, Kaede and Shoto do have the protection of Endeavour and Red Crow. Besides, the two families have insisted, and from the looks of it, I don't think they will take no for an answer..."
"What do you think, Aizawa-san?" Nezu asked the Class 1-A homeroom teacher.
Shota sighed: "I think we should agree to their request. As you said, they will be well protected and we have lessened UA's strictness, so why not."
"Very well," Nezu replied as he took out a pen from within his desk and signed his name. Nezu stored the forms away and observed the beautiful scenery outside the window.
[Kaede POV]
Sunday...
Dad and Itachi-onii-chan, for some reason, have asked UA to send me back home for the weekend, and we will have dinner with Shoto's family? I was in the living room playing with Eri, and we were both waiting for the rest of the family. Before long, mom came downstairs; after hearing I was going out with Shoto, mom was ecstatic and couldn't wait to meet him officially.
However, dad and onii-chan still haven't come downstairs yet, and if they don't hurry up, we will be late.
"Fugaku! Itachi! What's taking so long?" Mom yelled.
Soon enough, Itachi and dad walked down the stairs, but all our eyes widened seeing what they were wearing. They wore black combat clothes with vests, gloves and boots like Special Forces members. Two long katana were strapped to their back, giving them an intimidating appearance.
"Dad, onii-chan, why does the two of you look like you're going to war?" I asked while tilting my head.
"That's because we are...." dad said, and Itachi-onii-chan nodded behind him.
Immediately, mom pulled tightly on their ear. She dragged dad and Itachi-onii-chan upstairs and shouted at them to change as mom sighed tiredly in frustration. Eri laughed, and a small smile appeared on my face. I surely miss being with my family: "I wonder what Shoto-kun is up to." I muttered.
[Shoto POV]
Kaede and her family will be here soon. Mother and Fuyumi said they were going all out on their cooking tonight. The rest of us cleaned the house and set the table. Natsuo and Toya had already informed me of the true meaning of this gathering. At first, I was nervous. But I promised myself that I would succeed.
'I have to...'
"Ah, I can't believe it! My little Shoto got a girlfriend!" Mother exclaimed and she spun around the room while carrying a plate of food.
The doorbell of our house starts to ring loudly. I stopped what I was doing and quickly went to the front door. I opened the door and what greeted me was Kaede's beautiful smile.
"Miss me, Shoto-kun?" Kaede teased.
My heart rate increased, and I smirked: "I do." I replied before hugging her.
Kaede blushed and buried her face into my chest: 'She's way too cute.' I thought.
Kaede's mother smiled at me with amusement: "You two were adorable, but please refrain from the urge to start making out until we're all inside?" She joked.
My face turned red, but I quickly recomposed myself and allowed the rest of Kaede's family to enter the house. When I passed by Kaede's father and brother, I held my hand out in greeting. However, the two ignored me and went inside...
[3rd POV]
As the two families sat together at the big dining table, Rei and Mikoto became friends immediately since they both hoped that Kaede and Shoto would have an excellent relationship. Kaede and Fuyumi also happily chatted as she complimented Fuyumi's cooking.
However, things were getting pretty awkward with the men. The Todoroki's felt tense and they could sense the killing intent direct at Shoto from the two Uchihas. Natsuo and Toya quietly ate their food athey suffered from the crossfire.
The hostility soon vanished as Eri, who had no idea of the situation, giggled and merrily enjoyed her meal. Fugaku smiled lovingly abd patted Eri's head. Enji had a complicated expression; as a father, he knew what Fugaku felt about Shoto and Kaede's relationship. After all, he wouldn't let a random stranger get close to Fuyumi without his consent.
'Good luck, Shoto.' Enji said in his mind, wishing his son would succeed in gaining Itachi and Fugaku's approval.
30 minutes later...
The dinner was finally coming to a close as the real purpose of this meeting began. Enji led Shoto, Itachi and Fugaku to a vacant room, and he brewed the Uchihas a cup of tea before leaving the room.
Natsuo and Toya also quietly retreated into their respective rooms and prayed that Shoto would come out of this alive. Rei, Mikoto and Fuyumi stayed silent on this matter; they knew they shouldn't interfere, so they just continued their conversation. Kaede questioned what was happening but was reassured by Mikoto, so Kaede shrugged as she went back to listening to Rei talking about Shoto's childhood while showing Kaede baby pictures.
[Fugaku POV]
I stared at the young man before me as he courtly introduced himself.
"My name is Shoto Todoroki and...."
"I know who you are." I cut him off and scoffed.
I glanced at Todoroki to see if there was any reaction to my rude behaviour. To my surprise, no body movements indicated what he felt as Todoroki looked back at me calmly.
"Let's go straight to the chase," I said coldly, "I don't approve."
Hearing this, Todoroki clenched his fists, and I smirked.
"What will you do now?" I taunted the boy.
Todoroki stared at me, but his eyes showed extreme determination and resolve instead of anger. "Then I will continue to ask for your approval," he stated.
"What makes you think that I will say yes?" I questioned with amusement.
"I don't... But I will do anything so that you will see me in a better light." Todoroki answered.
"Oh? Anything you say?" I stared into the boy's eyes: "Back in my day, to gain my wife's father's approval, I had to fight him in a trial of combat to earn his respect."
Todoroki listened intently, but there was a bewildered look on his face.
"They say you can learn much about someone when you fight them face to face," I explained and took a long sip of my tea.
"Will I be fighting you?" Enji's son asked.
I laughed: "No, boy, I'm too old for such things. However....." I snapped my fingers, and my son took this as a signal as he activated his Mangekyou Sharingan and brought the three of us into his Tsuyukomi space.
