It was not until after sundown that they arrived at the Sanguine Pack. Cecilia rushed out and threw herself on Eleanor. She was sobbing so hard that she couldn't speak.
"I am fine," Eleanor assured her. "Stop crying, okay."
Cecilia controlled her sobbing with difficulty and gripped her hands. "I thought I would never see you," she said in a cracking voice.
"I am here." Eleanor wiped her tears away. "Thank you for keeping your faith in me. Everyone was blaming me, and I was thinking..."
"Those fake accusations couldn't sway my trust in you," Cecilia said before Eleanor could finish her sentence. "I know you. You cannot think of hurting anyone, not to mention poisoning the inmates of the packhouse. It was all Ruby and Nia's ruse. They were punished after everything was cleared up. Then that attack…" She sobbed and stopped talking. "It was Connor, the traitor. He joined hands with the enemy pack and killed the alpha."
