The burial was finally over. Eleanor and Lucas sneaked into the Moon Keepers.
The patrolling was more intense than usual, which alarmed Lucas. He cautioned Eleanor to stay vigilant.
"I will stay outside and look around," he said quietly. "You go inside and bring the journal quickly. You cannot stay here any longer. "
Eleanor nodded and approached her house sneakily. She was overcome with emotion as she looked around at her familiar surroundings. The once cheerful, bright, and warm house was now deserted, gloomy, and quiet. It gave the impression of a forbidden house in the darkness of the night. Even the strongest of hearts would tremble at the prospect of an unseen danger lurking in the shadows.
