The birds' song and the cold morning breeze woke up Eleanor. As she tried to move, a sharp, stinging pain shot through her body from her back.
"Ah…" she whimpered, tears escaping her eyes.
"Miss, you are awake." A thin voice descended on her, compelling her to look up. A young maid was looking down at her with concern.
"Who are you? Where am I?" Eleanor managed to pose those questions, looking around the room, which was double the size of her bedroom.
The soft morning light streaming through the large, tall windows banished the darkness from every nook and cranny. The white curtains exuded the purity. She looked at the handcrafted wooden rocking chair beside the window before moving her gaze to the massive wooden cupboard. The furnishings in the room were all well-crafted and appeared to be expensive. It seemed as if she had come into a royal castle.
