Eleanor applied the green paste to her wounds.
"Hiss…" It burned her at first, making her wince. Then the cooling sensation spread throughout.
As she continued applying the paste, she checked her birthmark in the mirror. It was no longer glowing, much to her relief. It was the same as it had been for the past 18 years, and it didn't appear to have ever glowed.
She set the bowl down and touched the star.
It looked like a real star that only shone at night.
"I don't have to be confined to the house. I can go out and work normally as before. I don't have to be concerned about being caught. All I have to do is stay home at night."
Eleanor grinned with relief. However, she had no idea that danger was lurking behind the darkness, waiting to find her star.
