Zane stood there speechless. He didn't know why he couldn't step forward and stop her. He didn't ask her to stay here with him either. All he did was watch her walk away from him. When her figure vanished from the line of sight, he became restless. It reminded him of how she had disappeared from his arms on the battlefield. His chest constricted with the thought that he would lose her again.
'Eleanor,' he murmured in his mind and stepped forward.
"Zane…" Kiera grabbed his wrist and pulled him to a halt. "The party has not ended yet."
Zane paused and looked back at her before sweeping his gaze across the hall.
"Don't go right now," she murmured.
Kiera knew she could never be able to stop him from going to Eleanor. But she still stopped him, intending to keep him away from her for as long as possible. She had just gotten married. She didn't want to share her husband with another woman on her wedding night.
