Zane's eyes narrowed little by little as he stared at her. He could tell Ruby had changed a lot. But he was not sure if she had given up her cunning. He was sorry for her, but he didn't want to put his trust in her.
"How can I help you?" he asked.
Ruby lifted her head to look at him momentarily before lowering her gaze to the floor and saying, "Alpha Connor threw me to the soldiers. They have been exploiting me whenever they want. I have come to ask you to release me from this painful and humiliating situation. I can do any job in the pack, other than sleeping with different men."
Zane pulled his gaze down to the papers in front of him and said indifferently, "You can go back to your pack and live your life."
