One thing about the Alderian seasons is the inconsistency by which they come. And once they come, the harshness by which they come is even another. It's December and every Alderian doesn't get surprised seeing themselves or their neighbors with chapped lips. Dry skins like they haven't had their bath in years. The cold water from the wells that soothe people during heat or sunny days, becomes stinging once it's harmattan. Every part of their body becomes delicate. A little harm to the skin will penetrate deep and the injury widens. And during harmattan, there are always high rates of houses burning.
Not everyone goes out early in the morning because of the fear of the chilly cold. And during the day, the hotness and dustiness complicates matters. Not everyone risks going out without using Vaseline. That same petroleum jelly. Some would even use it on their lips instead of lipstick. This applies mostly to men.
