Derick's infiltration team came out of a ventilation shaft into a boiler room. Many series of steam pipes were leading through various orifices in the walls. A narrow stairway was there that led to an adjoining room with more vacancy. From there they climbed up to a platform where they unlocked a hatch door. They cautiously dropped down into an expansive corridor and immediately hid behind the present colonnade.
Further down the corridor, they identified a concentric junction where 4 pathways were connected including the hallway they were in. In the middle of the intersection was a vast hole that seemed to have reached all the way to the bottom floor and all the way to the top floor of the tower. It was hard for the infiltration team to tell. However, they surmised that the Sky Munchers must frequently use that path for easier travels throughout the Tower of Destiny.
