Glenda’s POV
My stomach churned and turned again as I stumbled back into the house. The Warhammer Guards hustled inside and pulled me to the ground as bullets came flying through the windows. My heart was pounding. Glass shattered over my head. I heard the girls screaming in terror from inside the house.
Memories of the attack on Fluorite seemed to swarm in my vision, but I pushed them away. That was a long time ago. There was nothing I could do then. We were defenseless, but we weren’t alone now.
I had to get the girls out of here. Warhammer Guard would look after them and whatever happened, I couldn’t be separated from Angelia again.
“Requesting immediate backup. We’re surrounded!”
“Miss Glenda with me!”
