Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

"The day has finally arrived," said a large man as he craved a tac mark on the cave wall signifying that it had been 10 whole years since he had started living in this cave in the forest.

This man was Jin now a 15-year-old he changed a lot in the past 10 years he now stood at an impressive 6 foot 4 inches tall his raven black hair has grown all the way down to his waist and his slim body is now muscular and strong.

Jin's face had only gotten more attractive with age too he now looked like a gorgeous male model his looks could put any man to shame.

Jin had spent a long time in the forest but now that he is finally a fifteen-year-old he can go to the fire dragon nation capital and join that mage academy.

No time to waste Jin walked over to the end of the cave and took out a bag of gold coins 58 to be exact.

Jin would need to pay 10 gold coins to take the entrance exam for the mage academy he found this out from a merchant passing through the forest.

At the time Jin had no cash so the merchant gave him an offer since he thought Jin was a capable hunter he would pay him for any monster's corpses he brought him.

That day Jin hunted a lot of monsters and was paid 58 gold coins in total for them so now Jin had the money to take the test plus a little extra too.

Jin was rushing to get the hell out of the cave and this whole forest altogether he has been in this terrible forest for 10 whole years doing the same things day in and day out with little to no human contact whatsoever.

"I can't wait I gotta hurry and get the hell out of here right now 10 years is too long to be alone in a cave that's for sure," Jin said while running at full speed out of the forest and to the dirt road merchants and other travelers use to get to the fire dragon city capital.

Jin ran down the simple dirt road towards the city he just couldn't wait to get to the city and finally start his new life in the academy let's just pray they accept me though.

after about a day or two he could see the fire dragon city in the distance and it was huge the giant metropolis was surrounded by huge stone walls over 300 feet tall with guards positioned on top of them watching everyone that enters the city.

Jin also noticed several merchants' carts lined up outside a large gate with guards stationed on both sides of it they were there to collect the fee to enter which was one gold coin and to make sure nobody shady gets inside.

Along with merchants, there were also many travelers and commoners waiting to get inside the commoners were made up of farmers and other village folk most likely here for the academies entrance exams.

Looks like I won't be getting in anytime soon Jin walked to the back and after two hours he finally got inside good thing the exams last for three days or he would have missed the deadline to try out.

He paid the guard and entered the crowded city full of dragon people or drakes as there called they make up the majority of the dragon empire population.

Drakes are the result of the dragon race breeding with the other races some looked like a cross between a dragon and a human while others looked like a cross between dragons and animals.

Each one had a characteristic they inherited from their dragon ancestors like scales on their arms or foreheads, large bulky tails, brightly colored horns, and huge wings.

Jin also saw humans and beastmen mixed in the crowd but not as many as the drakes Jin was captivated by the large shops and buildings so much so he didn't notice the woman that was standing in front of him and Jin ended up bumping into her.

Jin had released he had walked into someone and was immediately concerned if it was a noble they wouldn't let him off easy he looked and his blood ran cold.

What he saw was a sickly pale woman with white hair and blood-red eyes in a dark purple and gold dress she also had two fangs coming out of her mouth there was no doubt about it this was a vampire from the demon race a noble vampire at that curse my horrible luck.

The demon race was made up of many subraces one of which was the vampire race a cruel and bloodthirsty race of powerful magic users and Jin just bumped into one this is why you should always look both ways while you cross the street people.

The white-skinned woman was turned around when she smelled that a human had bumped into her she was beyond infuriated by this human that had bumped into her she was gonna tear him apart.

She had a disgusted look on her face while she prepared to yell at this insolent human scum but that disgusted look turned into an impossibly large grin when she saw Jin's handsome face.

"Well hey there handsome," she said with a perverted glint in her eyes, and now that she got a good enough whiff he smelled delicious she knew his blood would taste divine.

The vampire woman began to talk and flirt with Jin as he stood there with a confused expression on his face Jin really had no idea what was going on right now he thought this vampire chick would scream at him and insult him but just because he was attractive she was now flirting with him?

Jin knew he had to get away from this crazy woman and fast he back away from her and said.

"I'm ever so sorry for bumping into you ma'am but if you would excuse me I have somewhere I need to go right now so good day to you," Jin said as politely as he could as to not anger her diffidently didn't want that.

After Jin said that he ran as away as fast as he could into a large crowd but from behind he could hear the vampire woman scream.

"Come back here you cutie pie!!!"

Luckily Jin had lost her in the crowd however Jin had a feeling she was gonna be a trouble in the future but whatever that's future me's problem so, for now, time to find the area holding the Academy entrance exams.

Jin searched around for a few minutes until he found a large plaza with thousands of people lining up in front of two stages with what look like examiners testing people in front of them.

That's the place all right Jin got into the line that lead to the examiners in robes that looked like magicians instead of the line that lead to examiners in armor after all Jin wanted to be a spell-casting mage.

It took a while until it was Jin's turn to be tested as he walked up onto the stage some of the drakes in fancy robes sneered at him and insulted him.

"Hah, a human trying to enter the royal magic academy that's just pathetic,"

"Doesn't he know only true human geniuses can get in that odds of him getting in are almost zero,"

"Yeah, only one in one hundred thousand humans have what it takes to get in only about 2 or 3 ever get in each year, and they're all trash compared to their other classmates,"

Whatever I'll show them Jin stood in front of a large table with two things laying on it a crystal ball and a device that sort of looked like a thermometer.

"Get started put your hands on the crystal ball so it can show us your magic aptitude," said the bored-looking examiner.

Okay seems simple enough Jin put his hands on the crystal ball it immediately emitted a blinding light that caused the tired-looking examiner's eyes to pop open he then shouted the words.

"Supreme grade talent!!!"

This shut up all the snickering nobles as their eyes popped out of their heads to supreme grade talent now that was just unfair only one in a million possessed that kind of freakish aptitude.

While everyone was standing there shocked Jin was just confused he asked the examiner if his talent was good and he answered rather loudly.

"Good your talent is the highest out of the four grades but since you don't understand let me explain a mages talent determines how fast one can cultivate and how fast they can learn spells it's incredibly important and a person's talent is determined from birth and can't be changed by any means possible a magician's magical aptitude is divided into four grades low, medium, upper, and supreme grade and only those who have medium grade can become mages,"

Oh, now Jin understood so his talent is supreme grade Jin always knew he had great talent but for me to have the highest talent possible now that's surprising.

"Well, whatever it doesn't matter if the human has supreme grade talent because if he has low magic power then all that talent is just wasted on him," said an enraged drake nobleman.

"Hmm? the young noble is right so let's move on to testing your magic power," said the examiner as he pointed toward the huge thermometer

Jin walked towards it but didn't know how to use it so he asked the examiner he said.

"Just put your hand on the bottom of the device and it will poor your magic power into the thermometer to measure it and just so you know a magician's talent is important but ultimately it's your magic power that determines your rank as a mage,"

Jin got it so a magician's grade is determined by the total amount of his magic power so then let's get to it Jin put his hand on the big thermometer and he felt it suck his mana away.

The red line then shot up until it reached the black numbered line that read 230 points.

"WHAT THE FUCK!!!" screamed the examiner as he stared at the large number in complete shock.

"No way it can't be the average human only has about 5 to 10 mana points and the average drake has 30 to 50 mana points but this 15-year-old boy has 230 mana points that's the average amount a 3rd-grade magician has It just can't be," mumbled the examiner.

"No way in hell some human is this strong so far the person who had the highest score was a drake noble named Ode and his was only 98 points," said the shocked drake noble with a look of utter disbelief on his face.

Wow, 230 that's a lot thought Jin but it did make since he practiced since he was a 5-year-old child, of course, it would be so high but now what happens next he looked over to the examiner and said.

"So what's gonna happen now did I pass or what?" said Jin as he stared at him with his usual uncaring nonchalant look on his face.

"Oh yeah you have supreme grade talent and 230 mana points you pass with full marks take this badge and report to the academy by the end of the three-day festival to begin the school year,"

Jin took the badge that had a large fire-spitting dragon on it and put it on his shirt and walked off he still had some gold coins left he will find a hotel to stay in until the academy opens and he can join.

Jin left the plaza and found a nice looking hotel to stay in Jin walked in then paid the lady at the front desk for a three days stay walked into his room and sat down on his bed and started meditating Jin made the decision to meditate for three straight days until the festival is over then his academy life will begin.
