Reed stood up and glanced down to see what Emy and Jasmin were up to. Devin learns from Damon, a soldier he trusts, that the animals didn't just accidentally attack Reed when he was at the portal.
"Are you going to blame me again for something I can't do when I'm in the other world?" Devin asked, "That's alright; I'm used to you."
When Reed thought about what happened that night, he couldn't find the words to say right away. Devin's claim might be true, so he doesn't have any plans to accuse him. Devin glanced down at Emy, who was on the ground. After he took a deep breath, he turned back to Reed.
Devin said, "I'm leaving."
Reed raised his eyebrows. "We haven't finished our conversation yet."
"Haven't you done it yet?" Devin asked, "Usually, whenever I try to do this, you always end up pushing me away."
