Once they were satisfied with the barangay's residents, the friends also departed immediately. Reed took Avery and Jasmin to their apartment first. Reed left Devin in the backseat, unable to speak since they left the province. They return to Emy and Reed's house, but Devin is still there.
Reed went down, and so did Emy. Devin immediately followed them. Emy left Reed and Devin in the living room. Reed knew that Devin had wanted to talk to him for a while, but he couldn't understand why he wasn't talking.
"Spit it out," Reed said. "Say what you want to say."
"Why are you taking Emy to the realm again?"
"We'll get married there. I'll introduce Emy as my chosen queen."
"Once you do that, she won't be able to return to her world."
"Says who?"
"You know what I'm talking about, Reed."
"Emy has a different destiny, and so do I."
"How can you be sure?"
