People who knew Emy could see Vanir's past lives were shocked when they told Jasmin and Avery. They all agreed that Emy might have been searching for his son and that she had eaten people to resurrect her baby. Devin laughed even more, but he didn't say anything about what he saw in the operating room or how he helped kill Elijah.
Reed turned away from the girls, and Devin followed him right away. Each of them has a wine glass.
"Do you think that because you married Emy, I won't stop her?" Devin said it with a laugh.
"No way," Reed looked at Devin and said. "She wanted to feel safe, so I got married."
"Do you think getting married to her with fake papers will change the fact that you still don't love her the way she wanted you to from the start?"
"How much do you think you know about love?" Reed asked. "Like me, you're a monster who doesn't know what love is."
"What if I told you I understand love?"
"You are crazy."
