Chereads / Ocular Menace: Misadventures of a Man with many Eyes / Chapter 36 - Ah, the Education system

Chapter 36 - Ah, the Education system

After lying down on his bed, no one shows up, so he decides to "wake up" when he sees the sunlight enter his room. He realizes he doesn't really have an education system set up, he had looked before and found out about magic academy's. However they were independent organizations and it wouldn't benefit the kingdom in any way to give them the talented youths for free. He would probably just look around for teachers whenever he got the chance, but for now, he would send a clone to do it, obviously changing it's appearance. So he decides to buy a few things.

[To confirm, the user would like to purchase [Telepathy] [10] [Teaching] [10] and [Stamina Increase] [10] [Hive Mind] [10] for 100000 Credits?]

"Buy it"

[Telepathy] [10]

[Teaching] [10]

[Your teaching skills are that of the greatest, you could make someone with average talent into an Archmage if you truly try and are given enough time. A feat deemed impossible by all those inhabiting the planet]

[Stamina Increase] [10]

[An additional 250 stat points are added to the stamina stat and a 20% decrease in necessary energy for any action. Applies to eyes]

[Hive Mind] [10]

[The user has made a have mind of their own brain. Due to just starting the hive mind, the user is limited to having a maximum of 100. Any brains created without the use of the skill [Spare Brain] will not count in the hive mind or benefit the host in any way. This includes being used to regenerate if the user has lost a brain. Cooldown for the skill [Spare Brain] has been reduced by 10 hours]

Before heading out, he remembers that he can now create a spare brain. So he heads back to the room in his house, and starts making a block of flesh again. 5 Minutes later he teleports back to his room and walks out, changing his armors to look like ancient Chinese emperor wear. There was no real reason, it was just what came to mind when was walking down the hallway, and it would definitely attract attention to switch it every time he thought of something better.

When he walks outside, he sees the square is full of children, from ages 5 to 18. All of them are nervous, most are fidgeting. When he walks out. all the nervous gazes shift over to him. Johnathan had some stage fright, but with his acting skill, no one would be able to know.

"I am here to determine your talents in magic, as our empire should have no genius left undiscovered. But worry not, if your talent is high enough, but you cannot afford being sent to a magic academy, I will send you to a newly opened academy for mages. It should be know I will take those with best talents under me to learn from me. But you may be concerned for your future if you have an average magical talent, but worry not, as magic is not the only thing the empire needs. Those who are more suited to administrative jobs within the empire shall also be taken in and cared for. What's the point of an army of mages if there's no one to keep the kingdom in order? With this, please make an orderly line and come to me, it is time I appraised your magical talents."

The children then form a line and then walk over to him, and he starts looking over their talents. To his surprise, there were more above average talents then average talents. He had no idea why, maybe it meant that humans had naturally adapted to mana, making their talent greater than it should be, or another factor, but it had to be researched.

By the end of the day, he had seen ever child in town. He had personally checked himself a few times and had found no one so he then decided to take the talented children back to their families. By the time he had finished, the sun was setting, so he decided to go and see the condition of the kingdom, and look at a world map for future reference. He then teleports on his throne again.

"How is the situation with the other races going over the tributes"

"While they have complained constantly. They have given no good reason as to why we should give them anything, however, so we have done nothing, your majesty"

"Perfect, how is the party were supposed to host going?"

"We cannot delay any longer your majesty, it must be tomorrow. We are also inviting ambassadors from the other races."

"That's fine, I have Ruby, please inform me about the time of the party when I wake up, as I'm going to sleep now."

Sebas just nods his head, and Johnathan then goes to his bedroom to "sleep"

While he's lying down, he feels a presence watching him nearby, so he decides to try giving the individual a sensory overload, and seeing how it works. He then activates telepathy with the individual and they then try dashing towards him with a knife, but they suddenly stop as he shares the vison form the 187 different eyes he had placed around the city. Seeing it's effects, he then decides to try his improved vampire eyes.

For the vampire eyes, he gotten them back around 10 minutes ago, as for why, throughout the day he was "sleepwalking" which basically means he had put his body asleep, but still moved around using Mana, telekinesis, placed eyes and his spare brain to make it look like he wasn't sleeping. The fact he hadn't gotten the [Sleepwalking] skill was a bit surprising to him. He then decides to look over the skill tree changes before interrogating the individual.

He then pulls the same trick as the last time, tricking the assassin into thinking he killed him, then running back to their base. Like last time, it worked like a charm, after the assassin verifies he's dead just to be certain, they jump out the window with one of his eyes attached.

After waiting for an hour, he had moved infiltrated inside a market deep underground. He assumed this was the black market, or whatever this worlds equivalent of it was. After wandering around for a while, the assassin wanders inside a building with a man in a mask. Johnathan decides this is the perfect time to test his telepathy. He then telepathically shares his vision with the masked man and the assassin. After they freeze up, he waits a minute before teleporting.

When he teleports inside, no one reacts, there all just staring blankly. He then ties them both up and activates his vampire eyes.

"Where are we, what happens here."

"The black market, a place to trade illegal goods without alerting anyone."

"Just humans or do other races come here?"

"Anyone can come here, and we deal in all their body parts."

Johnathan's faces grimaces in disgust. He was hoping the problem would be limited to humans, and each race would have their own. The fact it was a global operation had not made Johnathan's day, as this would be infinitely more complicated and take a lot longer than he wanted it to. However this didn't change what he was about to do.

He then cuts of their head with some wind magic, and lights the building on fire with his flames of purgatory.
