Behind Isaac, multiple sets of hands gripped him by his clothing and dragged him away from the edge of the field of carnage.
The cleaners grabbing Issac flipped him on his back, dragging him as hard as they could. Turning his head to face them Isaac saw Lurk among the group.
Once they'd made it a safe enough distance away from the red beast all of them except for Lurk proceeded to drop Isaac with no care for his well-being and fearfully call out to the scattered flies who'd formed a massive swarm.
"Teleport me to the Commons!"
"Teleport me to my ward!"
Teleport…" The commands continued to resound as more and more cleaners began leaving the bleached sands in fear and filled with panic. Bodies continued to flicker out of sight until there were only Issac and Lurk left.
"Get on off your ass and stand, we're not finished. That beast isn't going to fall to the hoard you gathered," Lurked looked down on Isaac with a soft grin spread across his face.
Extending out his hand Lurk offered to help Isaac to his feet. Ignoring the offer Isaac stubbornly struggled until he stood on his own, "Why even bother staying? We can't kill the thing."
"If you're not going to accept my help then no we can't," Facing away from Isaac Lurk turned towards the red beast, "I told you already because of your actions the primal zone in the bleached sand will be lost. We have to kill this thing or die trying."
"Here," Glancing at Lurk's hand, Isaac flinched as it combusted before being engulfed in a small flame, "It's a power. One I'm not compatible with. I hate the idea of losing it even still but I'd rather have support than be selfish."
Bringing his hand up Isaac hesitated before fully extending his hand and grazing Lurk's. There was strangely no heat but as Lurk tightened his grip., the wisp of brilliant flames flared in a violent but elegant manner before finally setting in Isaac's hand.
A weight settled on his palm and as Lurk pulled away from his hand Isaac watched as the flames had left him; untouched and devoid of their presence.
Power surged through Isaac as his body began processing this new power. Information about it began to instinctually imprint within him as if he'd had the ability since birth. Along with it came a strong feeling of comfortability.
"Good, It seems like you're much more compatible with it than me. Now let's kill this thing." Stepping forward Lurk began marching towards the red beast before motioning for Isaac to stay back.
Slinging his hand towards the ground he generated a large crackling spear of lighting, letting it sputter and spit stray lines of electricity.
Looking down towards his engulfed hand Isaac tightened his grip and felt as the power began to surge in the small flame. He watched it as it grew before stabilizing into a steady stream of bright orange and red light.
CRA-KOOOM!
In the few short moments Isaac had taken his eyes off Lurk, he'd already cleared the distance with his spear that hit home with a resounding crack of lighting.
The red beast was thrown off its feet and laid out on the floor. Though much less in number the hoard continued to swan and maul the beast with teeth, claws, and whatever else they could use to tear into the creature. Corpses of the fallen lined the ground, mangled and yet uneaten.
The red beast threw itself into a childish rage similar to that of the red ape's dance. It crushed and trampled the remaining hoard until there was nothing left but coagulated blood, shattered bone, and rendered flesh.
It attempted to ingest the banquet laid out before it but another large bolt of lightning caught and slammed into its face, throwing it to the side.
Isaac watched in amazement as the red beast continued to stand nonetheless. The damaged tissue from both attacks slowly began to regenerate. Much slower than before. Though it wasn't much, there was a clear chance at victory.
Scrambling his mind Isaac frantically began attempting to utilize his new power. However, the realization that any ability he'd think to use required ink wells to generate and he'd just drained all of his recovering from the death-blow dealt to him.
CRA-KOOOM!
The burst of thunder caught Isaac's attention. Lurk and the beast were now locked in combat. Blow after blow Isaac watched a Lurk effortlessly dodge each attack from the beast, but the near misses of every blow made it obvious that Lurk was struggling to keep up even if he refused to show it.
Quickly, Isaac realized that Lurk, whether intentionally or not, was leading the beast away from the pile of corpses. Isaac's body planned his course of attack faster than his mind could as he was already racing towards the display of flesh.
Saliva poured from his mouth as his hunger and greed took over. Once he'd reached the corpses Isaac shoved mouth full after mouth full of flesh into his maw. Devouring everything he could as quickly as possible, not even leaving enough of a gap in between to breathe.

Alerts continued to sound off one after another as Isaac's fly struggled to keep up with what exactly he was consuming. As he continued his fly eventually ceased its announcements moments before Isaac had filled himself.
"Several Primal Grade Sand Beasts Slaughtered. Require portion consumed: Unknown. Twelve Inkwells filled. Calculated credits earn via consumption of Unknown, Unknown, Unknown. Total Credits Earned: 0"
BOOOM!
Lurk watched as the red beast halted before swelling the muscles in its neck.
BOOOM!
From the creature's throat a loud continued sound of a drum continued to play for one a few seconds before the creature's mouth was forced open and a sonic wave ripped through the space between them.
Having no way to dodge, Lurk fortified his body using one of his three remaining inkwells. The blast took him clean off his feet and high into the air. The force of the blast nearly knocked the wind out of him but he'd managed to hold strong.
Landing painfully on his back he shot up only to be met with the maw of the red beast. It'd leaped on top of him and prepared to detach his head clean from his shoulders.
The teeth were inches away from his face before an arrow made of pure flame melted through the beast's flesh before slamming into it sending it flying into the distance.
The force of the arrow brought a massive wave of hot winds carrying bleached sand and bits of tooth and bone that rushed past Lurk, leaving a trail of smoldering embers behind it.
Turning his attention towards where the bolt had come from Lurk saw Issac in a stance that mirrored his own but was ever so slightly different.
WRAAUGHH!
The red beast let loose another angered roar before preparing the charge. The wound on its head was regenerated just enough to reverse to damage done to not cause impairment.
The missing flames on Isaac's right hand burst forth. His hands already in position Isaac formed another large arrow. Its flames dripped off of the bolt melting the sands. In a breath, the bolt flew in one fluid motion of his hands.
The violent roar of flames followed the arrow. It was much slower than Lurk and not nearly as refined but Isaac's compatibility with the ability allowed it to have just as much power behind each strike.
BOOOM!
Lurk watched as the red beast attempted to dodge the attack but was too weak to respond face enough and the bolt exploded in a torrent of flame that ripped through the beast's sides and washed over the sands behind it.
Dropping to its knees the best heaved before throwing up a puddle of blood. Regaining his senses, he jumped to his feet and let out a roar as he summoned bolt after bolt of lighting along with Isaac's flames.
The creature roared in pain as its body was engulfed in a massive storm of fire and lightning. Lurk continued until he'd reached his very last inkwell, only so he could charge a massive sphere of lighting and before sending it hurtling towards the creature promptly exploding in a pulsating mass of electricity.
