Chapter 162: Hot charcoal
"Are you good?"
He nodded like he was coming out of a trance and kissed her freezing fingers. Defiance liked it. It was warm and she needed warmth.
"You are alright"
It sounded more like a question than a statement coming from him.
Defiance nodded. Her teeth were beginning to clatter.
"Yeah but I am…" she let out a shaky breath.
"Oh goodness, you are freezing! Why didn't you say something?"
"Because I was busy dealing with more important things but I am becoming a popsicle, Conrad"
"Well not on my watch"
Conrad took off his jacket as he looked around for a better place for her to strip. He found a little cave near the mountains for privacy.
"Come" he grabbed her hand and led her there.
He took of his shirt and handed it to her.
"Take the shirt" he told her.
"What about you?" Defiance asked him.
