Chapter 53: Alpha Phoenix
Jeremy watched with a dreadful look as his sister's eyes darted to the bathroom.
Oh no! He tried to stand still. He knew Phoenix enough to know that if he protested too much it would only fuel her curiosity.
"We are not alone, are we?" She asked him and Jeremy's heart fell into his stomach.
On his list of people who could never find Connie in his room, Alpha Phoenix was high up on that list.
Jeremy tried to figure out what to say, something shocking perhaps or gross, something that would piss Phoenix off and divert her attention to him, not his bathroom.
"I am quitting school to go to Africa!" He yelled.
He didn't mean to. He just panicked and yelling had been his go to mechanism.
He watched his sister's countenance when she heard the news, he thought she would be overwhelmed with rage and the urge to drag him by ear like she has several times but instead she laughed.
