Chapter 87: Secrets we want to keep
"We didn't buy…" Semeen exhaled. "You are the son I have always wanted, Julian. You are enough for me and for someone with a lot of losses that is saying a lot" Semeen was talking about her previous life.
"What loss?" Julian asked her.
Semeen realized that unlike her, Jeanine Cross, Julian's mother had no loss whatsoever and so she had nothing she could share with Julian.
But on a second thought she decided to share something personal, about the real her, not the woman she was pretending to be.
"Before I became your mother I miscarried… a baby and I didn't tell you because I didn't know how to talk about it. I still don't"
"You what?" Julian looked shocked.
"Why didn't you tell me?…why didn't you tell me about your miscarriage and your loss. There is nothing wrong if you are less than super, Mom"
After a brief pause, Semeen tried to put her feelings into words.
