Chapter 129: get them!
Defiance stood at the back. Her eyes occasionally went to the surrounding woods like she was expecting someone to come out of it.
She turned her head towards the podium where the Alpha stood with her uncle beside him. She blinked and her eyes went to the woods again while she bit her fingernails unconsciously.
Everyone in the assembly ground looked nervous or spoke in whispers or in groups of three. If she wasn't mistakenly it was terror in some people's eyes and others a hint of relief.
She knew that for people like herself, omegas, they were relieved to see that their wellbeing was just as important to the Alpha and he would go as far to punish a beta blood on their behalf.
Defiance kept looking around because the silence and the occasional whispers was killing her and creeping her out.
