Chapter 5 - Chapter 5. Me and My Teacher

We ran along the aqueduct until the sun was visible at the end of the road. A breeze from outside the walls feel again after a long time. Our group managed to escape from the Capital.

"Huh...hah..hah." The group was exhausted from running.

"Now what?" I asked Kevin.

"We can only escape to the east." Kevin pointed to the iceberg in the east.

"To Suwasina? Why? It's better to go north to the islands of Borneona," I suggested.

"Don't go there! I heard Borneona is led by King Ragona. He doesn't care about the War of Two Princes. He only cares about money." Koko objected to my suggestion.

"Borneona is a place for half-beast after all, right? I'm not sure their food is safe for us." Ira finally spoke normally.

"Oh.... Ira are you back to normal?" Kevin raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"Maybe... I'm happy when those bastards die. But it can't bring them back." Ira refers to the villagers there.

The sound of the soldiers' footsteps was getting closer. We did make it out this time. But not yet exempt from the law.

"NO MORE TIME! Leave this place immediately." Kevin gave instructions.

We could only run away following Kevin. Until finally we came to a forest. This isn't the same forest as the one where I was fall and sleeping during the incident in the village.

"Ah(tired)....We'll stop here."

Kevin stopped the group and stopped in the middle of the forest to rest. We spent the night in the middle of the forest accompanied by a bonfire that surrounded us by sitting cross-legged in a relaxed manner. The group situation is under control.

"Hey... Please Ira... Will you taught by me!" Koko insisted with a happy face so that Ira would also taught by her.

"Isn't Jafar enough?" Ira rejected Koko's invitation.

"Yeah I know... But more than one private student is better, right." Koko's eyes shone with excitement.

"Hmmm.... Teaching Ira magic might come in handy in the future. You'd better learn it too, Ira." Kevin held his chin.

"Yeah, if that's what you want, that's fine." Ira obeyed Kevin.

"You're very obedient to him," I asked.

"It can't be helped. He's the only family I have now." Ira lowered her head.

"So... why are you following Kevin, Jafar?" Koko asked me.

"I just don't have a goal." I scratched my head.

"When Kevin said he wanted to go to Suwasina, I was actually really excited. I just wanted to visit the country." I continued while looking up at the beautiful night sky.

"Actually I don't mind you coming. As long as you don't become a burden to me, That's enough." Kevin looked at me seriously.

That's right. I was the one who asked to join. I have to keep getting stronger. My hand gripped tightly as I lifted it up.

"(I should be able to protect them)." I promise in my heart.

The sound of the strong wind began to accompany the dark night. The sound of overwhelming footsteps came all around us.

"Oh... That creatures is starving, isn't it?" Kevin saw a herd of wolf-headed horses.

The wolf-headed horse or the so-called Jarjag often appears in abandoned forests. They can run very fast. However, their large bodies became their disadvantage. They could not run swiftly through the trees and roots of the forest.

We prepared our weapons. Kevin is ready to aim, Ira is ready to swing her sword, Koko is ready to burn them all, and I will skin them all alive. The four of us attacked the Jarjag crowd.

Kevin fired at the Jarjag with the right target. The speed at which the crossbow reloaded was astonishing. It only takes about 2 seconds for the crossbow to be recharged.

Ira swing and slashed at the Jarjags skillfully. I didn't know Ira had such a skilled swordsmanship. She slashed the legs of the jarjag and after they were paralyzed, Ira stabbed into their heads.

For Koko there is no question. He only had one spell, 2 jarjag scorched, got froze, and died of poisoning.

Fighting a crowd of jarjag using a knife is a difficult thing. I can only rely on my throws. I threw the knife at Jarjag's head and I had to quickly grab the knife that was stuck and throw it again.

"Hyaa!" I threw the knife at Jarjag's head. I ran towards the jarjag I stabbed.

"Huh?!" My knife was stuck too deep and couldn't come out.

The herd of jarjag started to come to me.

"Jafar take this!"

Koko threw a bracelet. The same bracelet she was wearing. This bracelet is a source of energy or you could say a place to store magical energy. The capacity varies according to the level of the bracelet. If this bracelet is made by an experienced magician then there is no doubt. The bracelet will have a very large capacity.

"Use it and focus your energy on the blade!" Koko gave me orders.

I tried to concentrate my energy into my stuck knife. A purple liquid oozed out around my two blades.

"This is poison element?"

I managed to pull out my knife and immediately threw 2 jarjag that were close to me. One knife failed to hit his head, but the jarjag died by poison.

"Is this magic power?" I stared at the jarjag who was stabbed in the stomach by my knife.

"Jafar watch out!" Ira warned me.

But it's too close. I can neither dodge nor attack. Is this the end of me?

CRACK!!

The sound of a crossbow shot shot towards the net in front of me. Jarjag was thrown and push at the tree. The bolt hit it in the neck.

"It's safe." Kevin gave me a thumbs up.

"Thank you, Kevin." I closed my eyes while curling my mouth.

"Now the jarjags are dead, we have to skin them, but sadly you're the only one with the knife here." Kevin pointed at me.

"So?" I flatten my face.

"As a thank you, you'd better skin them all. We can sell jarjag skins for a high price in suwasina." Kevin patted my back several times.

"Ha....>" I sighed and couldn't fight.

I skinned about 25 jarjags alone. Ira and Kevin were already asleep. Koko was still experimenting with the jarjags I had skinned with her magic.

"Want me to help?" Koko came to leave the experiment.

"Aren't you experimenting?" I said firmly.

"Helping students who are struggling is something a teacher should do, right?"

Koko winked and raised her index finger, don't know how to refuse. I can only give Koko one of my knife that is in my sheath. Tonight, Koko and I as teacher and student skin jarjag hide together throughout the night. Work gets done quickly.
